KENYA – Hotpoint Appliances, in partnership with LG Electronics, is scaling up support for entrepreneurs in Kenya’s commercial laundry sector through the introduction of advanced technologies and comprehensive business development services.

At a recent seminar held for laundromat owners and prospective investors, the two companies unveiled the latest innovations in smart commercial laundry systems.

The event highlighted how intelligent technologies can lower operational costs, boost efficiency, and meet the rising expectations of environmentally conscious consumers.

A key highlight was LG’s range of AI-powered commercial washers and dryers. These machines intelligently adapt wash cycles based on fabric type and load size, dramatically reducing water and energy usage while extending equipment lifespan.

This not only supports sustainable operations but also leads to reduced utility expenses and improved customer satisfaction, critical factors in running a successful laundry business.

“Over the past three years, Hotpoint has facilitated the launch of more than 120 laundromats across Kenya,” said Veronica Thongori, Head of B2B at Hotpoint Appliances.

“These range from modest single-machine ventures to large, multi-outlet operations. Our support goes well beyond product supply—we offer end-to-end services including business planning, technical training, and after-sales support to help our partners thrive.”

Hotpoint’s holistic approach encompasses feasibility studies, customized business solutions based on location and market demand, and ongoing mentorship.

This positions the company as a key player in driving the growth and sustainability of Kenya’s laundromat ecosystem.

The seminar also served as an educational platform, offering participants practical insights into international best practices, efficient laundromat layouts, and maintenance strategies.

By building a community of knowledgeable operators, Hotpoint and LG are nurturing a more resilient, future-ready sector.

With growing urbanization and increasingly time-strapped consumers, the demand for professional laundry services is on the rise.

At the same time, sustainability and innovation have become top priorities for consumers. By embracing smart, eco-friendly laundry solutions, businesses can not only stay ahead of trends but also build lasting customer loyalty.

Through its strategic collaboration with LG and its commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs, Hotpoint is helping to redefine Kenya’s laundry services sector—driving innovation, sustainability, and business success, one smart solution at a time.
