GHI’s specialized offerings and client base complement Novvia’s operations and bolster its recently established consumer goods packaging division.
USA – Novvia Group, a global distributor of rigid packaging solutions, has strengthened its consumer packaging segment through the acquisition of Garrett Hewitt International (GHI), a US-based supplier of plastic and glass containers for the beauty and fragrance sectors.
Based in Fishkill, New York, GHI was founded in 1964 and has built a strong presence in the cosmetics packaging market.
While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the acquisition aligns strategically with Novvia’s ongoing expansion in consumer-focused packaging.
GHI’s specialized offerings and client base complement Novvia’s operations and bolster its recently established consumer goods packaging division, formed to consolidate and grow its footprint in this sector.
The GHI acquisition follows a string of recent deals by Novvia aimed at reinforcing its market position across multiple industries.
GHI provides a diverse range of cosmetic packaging solutions tailored for the beauty, fragrance, and skincare industries, spanning brushes and applicators.
They also specialize in turnkey solutions, offering ready-to-market formulations combined with thoughtfully designed packaging.
In addition, they incorporate EcoPure Technology, a biodegradable additive that accelerates plastic degradation, making packaging more environmentally responsible.
They also provide logistics and fulfilment services, ensuring seamless production and distribution for beauty brands.
Earlier in January, Novvia acquired Saxco International, a California-headquartered packaging provider established in 1936.
Saxco specializes in rigid packaging for the food and beverage industry and supports over 5,000 clients across North America, including wineries, distilleries, breweries, and speciality food producers.
Saxco brings to Novvia a vast logistics and inventory network, including more than 1 million square feet of warehouse space spread across 20 fulfilment centres and access to over 10,000 SKUs.
The company also offers value-added services such as packaging design, artwork management, demand planning, and case packing, enhancing Novvia’s capabilities as a full-service packaging partner.
Following the acquisition, Saxco’s experienced leadership team now heads Novvia’s consumer product distribution division, tasked with driving both organic growth and future acquisitions.
GHI will continue operating independently, with its team managing day-to-day operations under Novvia’s umbrella.
GHI Owner Jason Clerke expressed optimism about the partnership, “We are thrilled to partner with Novvia to support our continued growth. We look forward to leveraging Novvia’s strong supplier relationships and resources to continue delivering value to our customers.”
