Optima opens Riyadh Office to strengthen Middle East Presence, builds on expansion momentum in India

The Riyadh office will serve as a regional hub, providing direct consultation, technical support, and tailored services aligned with the specific needs of Middle Eastern clients.

SAUDI ARABIA – Optima Packaging Group, a global leader in packaging and filling technologies, has officially opened a new sales and service office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of its accelerated international expansion strategy.

The move, which became effective last month, underscores Optima’s commitment to strengthening its footprint across the Middle East, offering localized support to a growing customer base, particularly in the pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, and life sciences sectors.

With over 3,400 employees across 20 global locations, Optima designs and manufactures tailored packaging machinery and consumer filling systems.

The Riyadh office will serve as a regional hub, providing direct consultation, technical support, and tailored services aligned with the specific needs of Middle Eastern clients.

Nour Hussein, Sales Director of Optima Middle East, emphasized the strategic significance of the new office, “This step strengthens our regional presence. Our new Sales & Service Office will provide dedicated support to our customers in Saudi Arabia and beyond.”

Johannes-Thomas Grobe, CEO of Optima Pharma, added, “With this new footprint, we are deepening our close contact with customers, enabling faster responses to their needs and gaining a better understanding of their requirements for innovations and new product solutions.”

The Riyadh office launch follows another major milestone in Optima’s global expansion, the recent enhancement of its Pune site in India, a key engineering and innovation hub for the group.

On April 1, 2025, Optima India welcomed 40 engineering specialists from long-term partner Eckstein, marking a major capacity boost.

The Pune expansion is seen as a crucial investment in technical expertise and customer proximity in one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.

“India, with its dynamic pharmaceutical industry, is a key location,” said Stefan König, CEO of Optima Group.

“Our vision is clear: We want to be even closer to our customers around the world while expanding our technological leadership.”

Pune’s strategic location and access to top engineering talent make it ideal for Optima’s innovation goals.

Akshay Chikodi, who has held senior roles at Optima since 2012, now leads the Pune operation, signaling continuity and local insight.

As Optima doubles down on its global expansion, with new operations in the Middle East and bolstered capacity in India, the company is reinforcing its long-term strategy: delivering world-class packaging technologies, backed by regional expertise and rapid service capabilities, in the heart of emerging markets.
