Lubrizol unveils innovation centre in Singapore to boost customer collaboration

The new centre enhances customer collaboration by providing a high-tech, integrated environment that accelerates product development and innovation.

SINGAPORE – Lubrizol, an American provider of speciality chemicals, has launched a new Southeast Asia Innovation Centre in Jurong, Singapore, designed to boost collaboration with customers and accelerate market-relevant innovation across the region.

The 15,000 square meter facility spans multiple floors and combines advanced laboratories, immersive experience zones, and dedicated spaces for technical training and knowledge exchange.

It houses scientists and product developers focused on leveraging local R&D capabilities, advanced decision science, and a collaborative mindset to deliver breakthrough solutions tailored to industries such as mobility, infrastructure, mining, data technology, beauty, personal care, and healthcare.

It aims to deepen collaboration not only internally but also with external partners and customers, helping them co-develop innovative products and technologies that meet evolving market needs.

Mr. Lim Wey-Len, Executive Vice President at the EDB, said, “Lubrizol’s Innovation Centre is a strong endorsement of Singapore’s position as a launchpad for innovation, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing.”

“As a leading player in speciality chemicals, Lubrizol’s decision to anchor R&D activities here also reinforces Singapore’s role as a trusted partner for companies in the energy and chemicals sector seeking to develop next-generation, sustainable solutions.”

Lubrizol has also formalized strategic partnerships through Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and United Oil Company, a joint venture with oil major Repsol.

The MOU aims to focus on exploring joint innovation opportunities and expanding market reach through collaborative product development, while the partnership with EDB supports advancing Singapore as an innovation and advanced manufacturing hub, driving regional growth and sustainability initiatives over the coming years.

This expansion reflects Lubrizol’s strategic alignment with the dynamic specialty chemicals landscape in Asia, where rapid shifts toward sustainability, advanced materials, and localized innovation are driving demand for agile, science-driven solutions.

Meanwhile, Lubrizol recently secured a distribution partnership with Palmer Holland,  a speciality chemical and ingredient distributor, to expand the availability of its ingredient solutions for the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, and food and beverage market segments across the USA.

Lubrizol stated the deal will help meet a growing demand for its core technology, microencapsulation.

This technology optimizes ingredient delivery and bioavailability to ensure effective and enjoyable nutraceutical products.
