The company is investing in expanding its global market presence and advancing the boundaries of AI-enabled polypeptide innovation and manufacturing.

USA – Geltor, an American biotechnology company that designs and produces animal-free, sustainable proteins, has secured a total of USD 137 million in funding to expand its global reach and advance its AI-driven polypeptide research.
This equity financing round, led by Miami venture capital firm Starlight Ventures and co-led by iSelect with participation from existing investors, enables Geltor to broaden access to its biodesigned polypeptide portfolio in new geographies and develop innovative solutions for topical and ingestible products.
Geltor has already achieved regulatory milestones, including a “no questions” letter from the FDA for its ingestible biotech collagen called PrimaColl.
It is currently collaborating on AI-driven polypeptide design with a leading beauty and personal care brand, aiming to disrupt the USD 500 billion U.S. and over USD 2 trillion global beauty, wellness, and longevity markets.
CEO Alexander Lorestani stated, “Designer polypeptides and their derivatives are exceptionally adept at delivering paradigm-shifting results (think Ozempic, Botox, Insulin), and we’re extremely encouraged by the progress we’ve made in delivering the power of these molecules to consumers globally.”
Previously, Geltor raised USD 91.3 million in a Series B round to accelerate its Ingredients-as-a-Service platform globally, increasing scale to meet consumer demand for ethical, animal-free ingredients used in cosmetics, food, and other sectors.
The company has scaled its fermentation platform 100-fold to produce hundreds of new proteins, underscoring its ambition to replace animal-derived ingredients with sustainable biodesigned alternatives.
Geltor offers a range of biodesigned, animal-free protein ingredients created through precision fermentation for use in beauty, personal care, and wellness.
Their topical portfolio includes vegan collagen and elastin analogues like HumaColl21®, Collume®, and Elastapure®, which support skin hydration, elasticity, and regeneration. For ingestible applications, they developed PrimaColl™, the first vegan collagen for dietary supplements targeting skin and joint health.
According to the company, all products are cruelty-free, biodegradable, and tailored for high-performance formulations across skincare and nutricosmetics.
