Ulta Beauty adds two new directors to its board

These leadership additions highlight Ulta Beauty’s strategic focus on expanding its retail and digital capabilities while emphasizing sustainability and innovation in its growth plans.

USA – Ulta Beauty has announced the appointments of Martin Brok and Stephenie Landry to its Board of Directors, effective September 1, 2025. 

According to Ulta Beauty, both will also serve as members of the company’s Audit and Compensation Committees.

Kecia Steelman, President and CEO of Ulta Beauty, expressed enthusiasm about the appointments, stating, “Martin is an accomplished, strategic leader with deep international experience in the areas of retailing, merchandising, and brand strategy, while Stephenie has strong operational and digital innovation expertise and sustainability leadership.”

“Their transformative track records and strategic vision will be invaluable as we navigate our next chapter of growth.”

According to the company, with these new appointments, Ulta Beauty’s Board of Directors will comprise 12 members, with women making up 67%, racially diverse members accounting for 33%, and 50% having been appointed within the last five years, showcasing the company’s commitment to diversity and renewal.

Martin Brok has over 35 years of global leadership experience in consumer brands and retail innovation, having held key roles including Global President and CEO of Sephora and President of Starbucks in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

He is currently Founder & CEO of mb Capital Advisors and an Operating Partner at Advent International, focusing on advising and investing in disruptive brand ventures worldwide.

Brok also serves on several boards such as Revlon and Oatly, and holds a B.B.A. in Marketing from Georgia State University, along with management training from Harvard Business School.

Stephenie Landry has over 20 years of leadership experience in consumer technology, retail operations, and strategic transformation, including serving as COO of Honor Technology.

At Amazon, she held key roles such as Vice President of Worldwide Grocery and Vice President of Sustainability, where she led digital grocery strategy and the company’s net-zero carbon plan.

Landry holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

This move comes after Ulta Beauty and Target recently jointly decided that their shop-in-shop partnership will conclude when the current agreement ends in August 2026. 

The collaboration, which began in 2021, featured Ulta Beauty in 600 mini-stores within Target locations across the U.S., giving Target customers increased access to Ulta’s diverse range of beauty products.
