This expansion marks the company’s strategic move to simultaneously build scale in the commercial AC segment alongside its well-established domestic offerings.

INDIA – Godrej & Boyce, a subsidiary company of Godrej Group that manufactures house appliances, has expanded its air conditioning portfolio with a strong emphasis on light commercial and large residential air conditioners, aiming to meet the growing demand for effective cooling solutions in bigger spaces.
The company has introduced a new range of products that includes one-way and four-way cassette ACs available in 2-ton and 3-ton capacities, tower ACs ranging from 2 tons to 4 tons, and Turbo Cool Split ACs in 2.5-ton and 3-ton sizes.
Notably, the 3-ton Turbo Cool Split AC features the industry’s widest indoor unit, spanning 126 cm, enabling it to deliver a powerful and wide air throw for superior cooling performance.
According to the company, these new models are equipped with advanced AI-powered cooling technologies, such as ambient heat sensing and user proximity detection, which optimize energy consumption and cooling efficiency.
The air conditioners also boast smart IoT controls that allow users to manage the AC remotely through an app, inverter technology for energy-efficient operation, 5-in-1 convertible modes for flexible usage, and 4-way swing for uniform air distribution.
Designed to operate effectively even in extreme summer conditions reaching up to 52°C, these units use eco-friendly R32 refrigerant and come with a five-year warranty on the compressor, reflecting the company’s commitment to durability and sustainability.
Godrej & Boyce is targeting a sales growth of over 40% during the upcoming festive season, driven by this expanded AC portfolio, increased brand-building efforts, network expansion, festive offers, and expected reductions in GST rates.
This expansion marks the company’s strategic move to simultaneously build scale in the commercial AC segment alongside its well-established domestic offerings.
The company acknowledges the growing trend of premium consumers adopting commercial-style cassette and tower ACs for spacious homes, blurring the lines between commercial and domestic use.
Kamal Nandi, Business Head and EVP at the Appliances Business of Godrej Enterprises Group, stated, “Due to soaring temperatures, ACs have become a necessity even in commercial spaces.”
“Our new light commercial AC portfolio unlocks greater value for our consumers, with new cooling formats, capacities and AI-powered technologies.”
The introduction of these new light commercial AC models is well-timed with the rising demand for larger capacity air conditioners, not only in commercial spaces such as offices, schools, hospitals, and government buildings but also in upscale residential environments.
This portfolio expansion reflects Godrej & Boyce’s dedication to delivering innovative, energy-efficient, and technologically advanced cooling solutions that cater to the evolving needs of a diverse customer base, reaffirming its position in the competitive air conditioning market and setting ambitious growth targets for the future.
