The brand is set to deploy the funds to establish a state-of-the-art innovation centre and accelerate product development.

INDIA – Asaya, an Indian science-driven skincare brand specializing in hyperpigmentation solutions, has raised ₹28 crore(USD 3.18 million) in a pre-Series A funding round led by RPSG Capital.
The funding round also included strategic investors such as Suyash Saraf and Anisha Agarwal Saraf, co-founders of Dot & Key, alongside existing backers OTP Ventures and Huddle Ventures.
The brand will deploy the funds to establish a state-of-the-art innovation centre, accelerate product development, including the launch of six new product solutions within the next year, and expand its marketing and team-building efforts.
Specifically, around ₹6-6.5 crore(USD 680,000 to USD 737,000) will be invested in R&D and lab facilities, ₹4 crore will be allocated for team expansion, with the remaining funds allocated to marketing.
Abhishek Goenka, Lead Investor at RPSG Capital, stated, “Asaya’s 5x revenue growth in the last 12 months proves Indian consumers are ready for science-backed solutions tailored to their specific needs rather than one-size-fits-all solutions.”
“Asaya’s targeted approach and proven efficacy make them ideally positioned to capture this shift toward specialized skincare.”
Asaya’s patented MelaMe™ complex, formulated to address the hyperpigmentation challenges prevalent among Indian skin types, drives the brand’s research-first approach.
The company has achieved 400% year-over-year revenue growth, aiming to close the current fiscal year with ₹35 crore (USD 3.97 million) in net revenue and project ₹60 crore (USD 6.80 million) for the next fiscal year, targeting breakeven within two years.
Distribution channels include e-commerce marketplaces, quick commerce, and the brand’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) website, which currently generates 35% of the revenue.
The brand anticipates that quick commerce will contribute 15-20% of its revenue by March 2026.
Overall, Asaya has diluted about 45% of its equity, including an 8.5% ESOP pool.
The pre-Series A round builds on a prior ₹15 crore(USD 1.70 million) raised from family, friends, and earlier investors, reflecting growing investor confidence in science-backed, hyperpigmentation-focused skincare tailored for Indian consumers.
This funding underscores Asaya’s market traction and ambition to address one of the most prevalent but underserved skincare concerns in India through innovative, research-backed formulations.
Asaya’s product line includes serums, cleansers, moisturizers, and sunscreens designed for diverse skin types, with a focus on gentle yet effective ingredients like niacinamide, kojic acid, and peptides.
In addition, the brand also offers targeted treatments for the underarms, knees, and elbows, along with curated skincare sets for achieving a glow, spot correction, and anti-ageing.
