INDIA – L’Oréal India has announced a strong financial performance for the fiscal year 2025, marking a 22.6% surge in profit to ₹597.54 crore, up from ₹487.46 crore in FY24.
This profit growth was accompanied by a 6.25% rise in net sales to ₹5,925.33 crore (USD 67.34 million), compared to ₹5,576.47 crore(USD 628.57 million) in the previous year.
The company’s total income, which includes sources beyond net sales, increased by 5.2% to reach ₹5,979.16 crore (USD 673.37 million) for the year ended March 31, 2025.
Despite revenue growth, L’Oréal India managed to reduce its advertising and promotional expenses by 3%, resulting in a total spend of ₹1,663.20 crore(USD 187.26 million), down from ₹1,714.53 crore in FY24.
Within this, ₹1,321.54 crore (USD 148.76 million) was allocated to advertisements, and ₹341.67 crore (USD 38.49 million) to sales promotions.
In addition, the company paid royalties amounting to ₹268.07 crore to its French parent company, reflecting a modest increase of 1% from the ₹265.16 crore (USD 30.21 million) paid in the previous fiscal year.
The total expenses for L’Oréal India rose by 2.8% to ₹5,161.91 crore(USD 581.64 million), reflecting operational growth.
The company, a nearly wholly owned subsidiary of L’Oréal SA, operates manufacturing plants in Chakan near Pune, Maharashtra, and Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, supported by research and innovation centers in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
As of March 31, 2025, L’Oréal India employed 1,832 people.
The company’s extensive portfolio now features 26 brands distributed across various channels.
Mass market brands include L’Oréal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline New York, and NYX Professional Makeup.
For professional salon use, it offers brands like L’Oréal Professionnel, Matrix, Kérastase, and Redken.
Selective distribution channels feature premium luxury brands such as Kiehl’s, Lancôme, and Yves Saint Laurent, while CeraVe is available through pharmacies and chemists.
Fragrance labels including Ralph Lauren, Armani, Prada, Valentino, Diesel, Viktor & Rolf, Maison Margiela, Mugler, Azzaro, and Guy Laroche are sold via L’Oréal International Distribution, further strengthening the company’s market presence across categories.
Meanwhile, L’Oréal India recently appointed Aseem Kaushik as Chairman and Jacques Lebel as Country Manager, effective October 1, 2025, to strengthen its position in India’s booming beauty market.
