Symrise expands product portfolio with launch of Neo Heliopan Fusion

GERMANY – Symrise has introduced Neo Heliopan® Fusion, an innovative ready-to-use 4-in-1 UV filter blend designed to simplify and enhance sunscreen formulation. 

This patent-pending product combines three advanced crystalline UV filters solubilized in a liquid UV filter, resulting in a stable, viscous liquid that makes formulation easier and faster for cosmetic developers. 

Neo Heliopan® Fusion allows for customizable SPF levels up to 50+ at a 30% usage rate, providing broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection with a light, comfortable skin feel.

By consolidating multiple UV filters into one ingredient, it reduces formulation complexity, lowers inventory needs, and optimizes energy use during production.

This new UV filter blend is versatile, fitting a wide array of applications such as creams, lotions, sprays, sticks, BB/CC creams, foundations, lipsticks, and daily skincare products like anti-ageing creams and moisturizers, all benefiting from reliable sun protection.

Its oil-soluble, water-free formula supports cold, hot, or hybrid manufacturing processes, boosting sustainability and manufacturing flexibility. 

In addition, Neo Heliopan® Fusion integrates easily into the oil phase with a simple stir, minimizing the need for extra solubilizers and streamlining ingredient inventories, which is particularly advantageous for small to mid-sized formulators.

Symrise highlights Neo Heliopan® Fusion as a first-of-its-kind solution that avoids typical emollients or emulsifiers, giving formulators maximum freedom to create tailored sun protection products suited for diverse markets.

Recently, Symrise upgraded its acclaimed emollient, PCL-Solid, to a new formulation called PCL-Solid green, which is made entirely from 100% natural-origin ingredients certified by ISO 16128. 

This vegan-friendly emollient replaces all petrochemical feedstocks with sustainable raw materials, aligning with the growing global demand for environmentally responsible and natural cosmetic ingredients. 

Despite this green transformation, PCL-Solid green maintains the high performance users expect: it melts quickly upon skin contact, delivering a soft, smooth, and non-greasy feel.

The product is a colourless ester blend with a neutral odour that enhances both texture and consistency in formulations, contributing to a pleasant and caring sensory experience. 

It is highly versatile, suited for use across a broad spectrum of applications, including face, body, lip care, colour cosmetics, and sunscreens, as well as formats such as stick and water-free products.
