CJ Olive Young expands Middle East reach via partnership with Life Healthcare

This partnership marks a significant milestone in the regional beauty sector by introducing Korean beauty culture and innovation to a broader audience with a pharmacy-led, large-scale retail presence.

UAE – CJ Olive Young, a South Korean leading health and beauty retailer, has formed a strategic partnership with the UAE’s Life Healthcare Group (LHG), the parent company of Life Pharmacy, aimed at boosting the Korean beauty (K-Beauty) sector across the UAE and the wider GCC region.

The collaboration was formalized through a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in Abu Dhabi, underscoring a shared vision to expand, elevate, and institutionalize K-Beauty in one of the world’s fastest-growing beauty and skincare markets.

Under this agreement, Olive Young’s brands, alongside selected Korean beauty labels, will be distributed across 580 Life Pharmacy stores in the UAE.

This partnership leverages Life Healthcare Group’s extensive retail network and expertise, alongside CJ Olive Young’s global reputation for innovative beauty products, to deepen consumer access to authentic and cutting-edge K-Beauty offerings.

The collaboration focuses on category development, portfolio expansion, enhancing experiential retail, onboarding both leading and emerging Korean brands, and conducting joint marketing and consumer engagement initiatives.

This initiative positions the UAE as a regional hub for Korean beauty innovation and strengthens economic ties between the UAE and South Korea.

Executives from both companies highlighted the transformative potential of this alliance to enrich the beauty and wellness landscape in the region, offering an elevated K-Beauty experience to millions while laying a foundation for sustained growth across the GCC markets.

In a similar move,  Korea Town recently announced an ambitious regional expansion plan targeting 50 branches across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) by the end of 2027.

This significant growth initiative is being executed in collaboration with Boutiqaat Group for Perfumes and Cosmetics under the “Powered by Boutiqaat” model.

As part of this expansion, Korea Town has redesigned its flagship store at The Gate Mall in Kuwait City to offer an enhanced, innovative retail experience that combines physical store elements with authentic Korean beauty culture.

Their portfolio boasts more than 250 Korean beauty brands, spanning skincare, haircare, color cosmetics, accessories, and lifestyle products, reinforcing their standing as the Gulf’s key hub for Korean beauty (K-beauty).
