Coty appoints Markus Strobel as Executive Chairman and Interim  Chief Executive Officer

The appointment marks a key shift as the company reviews its Consumer Beauty operations.

USA – Coty Inc. has named Markus Strobel as Executive Chairman of the Board and Interim CEO, effective January 1, 2026.

Strobel takes over from Peter Harf, who retires after more than 30 years shaping Coty into a beauty industry leader, and Sue Nabi, who ends her five-year CEO role after launching hit fragrances like Burberry Goddess and cutting net financial leverage to about 3x.

Both predecessors leave behind a robust platform primed for sustained expansion.

At this critical phase, Strobel will steer Coty, with board support, to solidify its dominance in beauty and pursue diverse paths to profitable scaling.

Markus remarked, “I am delighted to join Coty at this important juncture. Building on Coty’s strong foundations, I see tremendous potential to accelerate growth, strengthen our position in prestige and mass beauty, and deliver sustainable value for shareholders, partners, and consumers worldwide.”

Strobel arrived with 33 years at Procter & Gamble, culminating as President of its Global Skin & Personal Care division, which oversaw a multi-billion-dollar lineup of over 12 major brands.

He earned acclaim for overhauling P&G Beauty categories and organizations, notably reviving SK-II as Asia’s top prestige skincare name, while managing high-profile fragrance, hair care, and grooming lines including Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, and Hugo Boss.

His initiatives modernized innovation pipelines, supply chains, marketing efforts, and market approaches across regions like North America, Greater China, Japan, Korea, and Europe.
