IMCD nominates Andreas Igerl, Ruud Joosten as board members

The appointments will strengthen commercial leadership and accelerate customer-centric growth across its global operations.

NETHERLANDS – IMCD has nominated Andreas Igerl as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and member of the Management Board, pending shareholder approval at the upcoming annual general meeting.

This strategic appointment, announced alongside the company’s strong 2025 full-year results, aims to sharpen IMCD’s commercial edge amid growing demand for high-performance ingredients across its different sectors.

Andreas Igerl brings over 25 years of deep industry expertise, most recently as CEO of Evonik’s Surface Solutions business unit, where he drove double-digit growth through innovation and market expansion.

His track record includes leading global teams to deliver sustainable solutions, including bio-based additives and functional excipients critical to clean-label food formulations.

Andreas Igerl (born 1980, German) joined IMCD in 2019 and currently serves as an Executive Committee member and President of IMCD EMEA and the Industrial Business Groups.

Before, he held positions as President of IMCD Asia-Pacific, Managing Director of IMCD China, and Business Unit Manager of Advanced Materials in Germany.

At IMCD, Igerl will oversee commercial strategy across EMEA, the Americas, and APAC, focusing on organic growth, key account management, and principal partnerships.

This move complements IMCD’s €498 million (USD 579.78M) operating EBITA achievement in 2025, reinforcing its position as a value-added distributor with €4.8 billion (USD 5.57 B) in revenue.

With the proposed appointment, the Management Board of IMCD will consist of three members, reflecting the company’s current size and its ambition for long-term growth and market leadership.

As global food trends favor functionality and eco-friendliness, Igerl’s leadership positions IMCD to outpace competitors, delivering tailored solutions that delight manufacturers from bakery mixes to plant-based snacks.

At the same time, IMCD nominates Ruud Joosten for the Supervisory Board.

Ruud Joosten has been the CEO of Royal BAM Group NV since 2020 and a non-executive board member of Altana AG since 2024.

He started his career at Sigma Coatings (currently PPG) in 1988. He joined AkzoNobel in 1996, where he held several management roles and served as COO between 2017 and 2020.

As announced in December 2025, the Supervisory Board intends to expand its composition by adding a sixth Board member as part of its long-term succession planning.

The proposal to appoint Ruud Joosten as a member of the Supervisory Board AND Andreas Igerl as a member of the Management Board will be submitted for approval at the Annual General Meeting to be held on 30 April 2026.
