Berger Paints Bangladesh appoints Mohsin Habib Chowdhury as CEO and Managing Director

Both appointments are effective from August 1, 2026.

BANGLADESH – Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited has appointed Mohsin Habib Chowdhury as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, with the decision having been unanimously approved at a board meeting held on April 29, 2026. 

The appointment takes effect from August 1, 2026, subject to shareholder approval at the company’s Annual General Meeting and in full compliance with the Companies Act, 1994, as well as all other applicable laws and regulations in Bangladesh. 

Mohsin Habib Chowdhury has been serving as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited prior to this appointment. 

He first joined the company in 1995 and has since built a distinguished career spanning three decades, with significant contributions in sales, marketing, and operational management. 

Over the course of his long career with the company, he has held several key leadership positions, including Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Senior General Manager of Sales and Marketing, and General Manager of Sales and Marketing. 

He holds an MBA in Marketing from the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Dhaka, an academic foundation that has clearly informed his strategic acumen and his ability to lead one of the country’s most prominent multinational consumer brands.

Berger Paints Bangladesh expressed strong confidence in his ability to drive the company’s strategic vision, pointing to his dedication to enhancing product quality and consumer satisfaction, as well as his broader leadership in innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity in the coatings sector. 

In recognition of his operational excellence, he was honored with the prestigious COO and Operations Director of the Year 2024 award at the Bangladesh C-Suite Awards, in addition to numerous other professional accolades. 

His recognition at the national C-Suite level underscores his impact, which has transcended the boundaries of a single company, shaping standards and benchmarks across Bangladesh’s manufacturing and consumer goods landscape.

Alongside the CEO appointment, the board resolved to appoint Rupali Haque Chowdhury as Executive Director for BPBL Subsidiaries, Coordination Director for Joint Ventures, and Non-Executive Director of the company for a two-year term.

Rupali Haque Chowdhury joined Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited on July 1, 2002, and has been serving as Managing Director since 2008. During that time, she provided strong strategic leadership, contributed to organizational excellence, and guided the company through significant phases of expansion and transformation. 

The board appreciated and thanked both Mohsin Habib Chowdhury and Rupali Haque Chowdhury for their outstanding leadership, dedication, and invaluable contributions to the company over the years, and expressed its anticipation of their continued guidance in steering Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited toward sustained growth and long-term success.
