Cascades invests USD 15M in new tissue converting line at Granby facility

This next-generation equipment will boost production capacity while improving product quality.

USA – Cascades, a leading manufacturer of eco-friendly packaging and hygiene products, has announced a major USD 15 million investment to install a state-of-the-art tissue-converting line at its Granby, Quebec, facility, significantly boosting the site’s production capacity while enhancing overall product quality.

The USD 15 million installation is set to unfold over nine months and follows a USD 14 million investment from recent years, totalling USD 29 million in facility investments.

The investment responds to ongoing demand from retail customers, especially for standard and multi-pack toilet paper.

Strategically located in Granby, the new line can produce 3 million cases annually, with production starting in late 2026. This expansion will significantly increase capacity and better serve customers’ growing needs.

Installing this equipment will protect the 239 well-paying jobs at the plant and directly support economic vitality in the Haute-Yamaska region.

This demonstrates Cascades’ dedication to the communities hosting its facilities by promoting local expertise and developing regional workforce skills.

Hugues Simon, President and CEO of Cascades, stated, “This investment reflects our commitment to being the partner of choice for our customers by adapting with agility to market realities.”

“This investment also reflects the dedication and expertise of our teams, who contribute every day to the performance and competitiveness of our platform.”

As a key player in the tissue paper industry, Cascades provides high-performance products with minimal environmental impact.

Cascades shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CAS.

This move comes after Cascades announced a USD 5.3 million investment at its Granby tissue plant in Quebec.

The company states that this upgrade is designed to boost production capacity by 20% by the end of 2025 while enhancing product quality across two strategic bathroom tissue lines.

The investment includes adding a new packer and a high-performance case packer to the production line that produces Cascades’ PRO Away-from-Home bathroom tissue.
