Iberchem opens new state-of-the-art facility in Guangzhou
The new hub is meant to position Iberchem closer to customers in Asia while strengthening its fine perfumery capabilities and creative development.
CHINA – Iberchem has opened a new 30,000-sqm centre in Guangzhou’s Zengcheng District to strengthen its next phase of growth in China and across Asia.
Iberchem officially inaugurated the site in Guangzhou, with diplomats and commercial attachés from China, Spain, and the United Kingdom attending the ceremony alongside senior leaders from Croda and Iberchem.
The facility combines expanded R&D, offices, production, and warehousing on a single site and is built to meet rising regional demand and increasingly sophisticated fragrance expectations.
The new centre comprises five buildings focused mainly on fragrances and integrates expanded R&D laboratories, offices, a production centre, and a warehouse into a single location.
It houses more than 170 full-time employees and is significantly larger than Iberchem’s previous facility, supporting continued growth in China and across Asia.
José Balibrea, Managing Director of Iberchem and Vice President of Croda’s F&F division, stated, “China is our number one country by sales, and Asia is a key pillar of our F&F 2030 growth strategy.”

The laboratories will help fragrance specialists and perfumers deliver more advanced customer support and further research in areas such as microencapsulation and neuroscience, while the fully robotised production centre is designed to improve precision, consistency, and delivery times.
The company frames the move as part of a longer-term plan to support continued expansion in China and the wider Asian market.
The company also says the transition marks a new chapter in its long-term journey in the region, with the site designed to support demand for advanced fragrance technologies and more tailored solutions.
The Guangzhou centre also hosts Croda’s Beauty Actives business, especially botanicals, creating closer collaboration between complementary teams and technologies.
Croda separately described the site as a regional hub that strengthens innovation, production, customer collaboration, and supply resilience across Asia.
Iberchem first invested in China in 2002 in the Huangpu District, and the move to Zengcheng marks the next chapter in that journey.
The new centre is positioned to support growing demand for advanced fragrance technologies, stronger creative development, and enhanced fine perfumery capabilities for customers across China and Asia.
