This validated portfolio supports North American beauty and personal care brands with closer, more resilient access to the company’s core emulsifying, texturising and surfactant solutions.

USA – Gattefossé has taken a major step toward strengthening its North American footprint by validating eight ingredients at its new manufacturing facility in Lufkin, Texas.
This move accelerates the plant’s production ramp-up and reinforces local supply for pharmaceutical and personal care customers across the region.
This achievement accelerates the plant’s industrial ramp-up and positions the site as a central platform for delivering locally manufactured, globally standardised ingredients to pharmaceutical and personal care customers across the region.
The company has validated three emblematic lipid excipients for the pharmaceutical sector at the Texas site: Peceol, Compritol 888 and Geleol Mono and Diglycerides NF, all widely used in contemporary drug delivery systems.
Peceol functions as a lipid vehicle and solubiliser for poorly water-soluble active ingredients, Compritol 888 supports modified-release and solid dosage forms, while Geleol NF serves as a multifunctional lipid carrier and release-modifying agent for oral and topical formulations, collectively strengthening regional access to advanced excipient technologies.
In addition, Gattefossé has confirmed local production of five strategic personal care ingredients: Emulium Mellifera MB, Compritol 888 CG MB, Emulium Delta MB, Plurol Diisostearique CG and LAS MB, covering natural and flexible oil-in-water emulsifiers, multifunctional texturising and thickening agents, minimalist water-in-oil emulsifiers for make-up and sun care, and versatile non-ionic surfactants for skin and hair care formats.
Ben Blinder, Chief Operating Officer at Gattefossé USA, stated, “Together, these eight excipients provide formulators with reliable solutions to address today’s formulation challenges.”
“By localizing the production of critical lipid-based excipients, we are directly answering our partners’ need for supply chain resilience and dependable domestic sourcing in an increasingly unpredictable global market.”
Gattefossé has established the Lufkin plant as its first industrial site in North America, which now produces three pharmaceutical excipients and five cosmetic ingredients, each of which has undergone a comprehensive validation process aligned with the company’s international quality and regulatory standards.
Technical equivalence dossiers ensure that materials manufactured in Texas match those produced at its established facilities in France and Singapore, covering analytical methods, stability data and regulatory documentation so customers can dual-source or switch to US production without reformulating or repeating qualification.
Gattefossé has anchored the Lufkin facility within a strong certification and sustainability framework, operating under recognised quality and GMP standards and incorporating energy-efficient, environmentally conscious design principles.
Together, the eight validated ingredients, strong compliance credentials and sustainable infrastructure reflect the company’s ambition to make the Texas plant a long-term industrial hub, consolidating its North American footprint while reinforcing its global manufacturing network.
