Oriflame divests its Indian manufacturing operations to Pure & Cure Healthcare

INDIA – Oriflame has agreed to transfer its manufacturing operations in India to Pure and Cure Healthcare Private Limited, the wholly owned subsidiary of Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited, one of India’s leading contract development and manufacturing organisations. 

The deal includes Oriflame India’s manufacturing facilities in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, and Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and will be completed only after customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals are met.

As part of the agreement, Oriflame and Akums will enter into a long-term manufacturing and supply partnership, with Akums continuing to produce Oriflame products to ensure continuity of supply and maintain the quality standards expected by Oriflame Beauty Entrepreneurs and customers. 

Oriflame said India remains a strategically important market where it has operated for more than 30 years, and it will continue expanding its social selling business through its network of Beauty Entrepreneurs across the country.

The company said the transaction is part of its wider effort to optimise global operations and its sourcing footprint while preserving product quality, operational resilience, and service levels.

According to Oriflame, employees at the manufacturing sites will be offered continued employment with the new owner on the same terms and conditions. 

Its commercial operations, Beauty Entrepreneur network, trademarks, and other customer-facing activities in India are not part of the transaction and will continue under Oriflame India Private Limited.

Malmhake added that Oriflame is pleased with the intention to preserve jobs and the expertise built at the facilities over many years, and said the company looks forward to a successful partnership with Akums and to continuing to serve Beauty Entrepreneurs and customers in India for years to come. 

Oriflame, founded in Sweden in 1967, operates in more than 60 markets and supports about 3 million Beauty Entrepreneurs and members globally through its social selling model.
