L’Oréal Morocco announces executive leadership transition

This governance evolution reaffirms the group’s long-standing commitment to the Kingdom.

MOROCCO – L’Oréal Morocco has appointed Gilles Delaunay as its new Managing Director and named Laila Benjelloun Touimi as Chairwoman of the subsidiary, effective 1 October 2026.

In this role, Delaunay will lead and oversee L’Oréal Morocco’s activities nationwide.

As Chairwoman, Benjelloun Touimi will focus on strengthening the company’s institutional anchoring and relationships with Moroccan stakeholders, and will support the L’Oréal Foundation’s local activities.

Benjelloun Touimi has spent much of her career with the company in Morocco: after graduating from ISCAE, she joined L’Oréal Morocco as an intern in 2000, held several marketing positions, then moved to Paris where she contributed to the development of L’Oréal Paris across the Africa–Middle East region.

She returned to Morocco in 2014 to lead the Consumer Products Division and became Managing Director of L’Oréal Morocco in 2019, a tenure during which the subsidiary doubled its revenue, recorded strong annual growth and increased its market share, while also moving to a new headquarters that earned HQE Gold and LEED Platinum certifications with one of the highest scores in Morocco.

During her leadership, she also supported programs focused on women, women researchers in STEM, professional inclusion for people with disabilities, and the international mobility of Moroccan talent.

Delaunay brings 27 years of experience at L’Oréal in France and internationally, including more than 20 years within the Consumer Products Division, having worked on the development of the group’s activities across several markets and contributed to commercial transformation projects.

Most recently, he served as Global Commerce Transformation Officer, where he helped structure and deploy commercial transformation initiatives across the group.

He said he is very happy to join L’Oréal Morocco and its teams, aiming to build on continuity, strengthen relationships and pursue development while listening to the market, with the ambition to offer beauty that responds to the aspirations of Moroccan women and men.

L’Oréal has operated in Morocco since 1943 and emphasizes that over more than eight decades it has built long-term relationships with the local market, partners and employees.

L’Oréal Morocco currently markets 19 international brands through four divisions covering consumer products, dermatological beauty, professional products and L’Oréal Luxe, and it distributes its products through supermarkets, pharmacies and parapharmacies, hair salons, perfumeries and beauty chains.
