Symrise unveils new Lautier 1795 production facility in Grasse

The investment cements Grasse as a strategic hub within Symrise’s global fragrance network, bringing sourcing, innovation and perfumery expertise into closer alignment.

FRANCE – Symrise has opened a new production facility for its Lautier 1795 natural fragrance ingredients brand in Grasse, reinforcing its premium naturals platform in southern France alongside the recently acquired Floral Concept.

The move unites more than 230 years of heritage in natural raw materials with modern processing technologies under the company’s ONE Symrise strategy, linking local sourcing and transformation expertise to Symrise’s global innovation, perfumery and customer networks.

The Grasse site is positioned as a core element of Symrise’s fragrance ecosystem in the region, working in tandem with Floral Concept’s premium naturals capabilities.

It provides customers with end‑to‑end support across responsible sourcing, transformation and production, while leveraging Symrise’s worldwide R&D, perfumery and solutions teams.

By co‑locating sourcing, processing and creative expertise in one of perfumery’s key hubs, the company aims to shorten the path from botanical raw material to finished fragrance ingredient.

Under the ONE Symrise approach, specialist units such as Lautier 1795 and Floral Concept retain their craft and local know‑how while tapping into the group’s scale, technology and market reach.

In Grasse, this integration is intended to accelerate innovation cycles, deepen collaboration with growers and perfumers, and expand access to high‑quality natural inputs for fine fragrance.

Together, the two brands broaden Symrise’s footprint in the Pays de Grasse and create a dedicated naturals cluster for sourcing, extraction and creative development.

Michael Friede, president of Symrise’s Scent & Care segment, stated, “Since the Diana acquisition in 2014, Symrise has built a strong natural ingredients business for food applications.”

“Today, with our expanded footprint in Grasse including Lautier 1795 and Floral Concept, we are bringing complementary naturals capabilities together to create new opportunities in fragrance ingredients.”

Founded in 1795, Lautier 1795 brings over two centuries of experience in sourcing and transforming exceptional botanicals, now enhanced by Floral Concept’s artisanal extraction and producer relationships.

The new site employs advanced technologies to improve precision in transformation, consistency of quality and traceability of natural ingredients.

For customers and perfumers, this means a wider creative palette, more reliable supply, greater transparency, and faster translation of market needs into new natural fragrance ingredients.

With the new Lautier 1795 production site and the integration of Floral Concept, Symrise is expanding its specialist footprint in the region to support growth in premium naturals, portfolio resilience and sustainable value creation.
