Ontex Group expands R&D capabilities with new innovation center in Segovia

SPAIN – Ontex Group, an international developer and producer of personal care solutions, has expanded its R&D capabilities by inauguring its sixth R&D center in Segovia, Spain. 

The center aims to drive innovation and enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities by focusing on baby, feminine and adult care innovations.

The facility is set to focus on enhancing production efficiency, developing sustainable manufacturing processes and driving innovative, cost-effective, and reliable product innovations to meet evolving customer needs.

Annick De Poorter, Chief Innovation and Sustainability Officer at Ontex Group, stated, “Innovation and sustainability are at the core of everything we do at Ontex.” 

“With the R&D center in Segovia, we’re building a dynamic ecosystem that brings together suppliers, partners, and customers to co-create solutions that make everyday life easier for everyone.”

The Segovia R&D center joins Ontex’s global network of innovation hubs, which includes facilities in Mayen, Germany, and Buggenhout, Belgium.

 The Mayen R&D center specialises in Global Process Engineering, Global Platform Innovation, and Market Adaptation for Baby Care.

The Buggenhout R&D center focuses on researching, developing, and producing medium and heavy incontinence care products.

These investments reinforce Ontex’s dedication to fast, affordable, and sustainable innovation while optimising its agile supply chain to serve key markets better.

Meanwhile, the company unveiled Dreamshields technology for baby diapers across Europe.

This technology offers superior leakage protection and enhanced comfort, ensuring optimal dryness for babies.

Dreamshields integrates several advanced features, including a unique channel design with gender-specific zones, the SeconDRY® system, a double-layer core with dual Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP), 360° protection and a heat release feature.

According to the company, the technology reduces CO2 emissions and plastic use, aligning with Ontex’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
