Franz is the first Chief Technology, Data & Analytics Officer at The Estée Lauder Companies.
USA – The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. has announced the appointment of Brian Franz as its new Chief Technology, Data & Analytics Officer, effective April 21, 2025.
Franz will report directly to President and CEO Stéphane de La Faverie and will become a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team.
In this newly created role, Franz will lead the IT, Digital Technology & Experience, and Enterprise Data teams, driving the transformation of the company’s global technology and data strategy.
His leadership will focus on scaling agile systems, enhancing digital experiences, and utilizing data to support strategic decision-making.
In addition, he will collaborate with external tech partners to accelerate innovation and modernization across the business.
Mr. de La Faverie stated, “As we drive our bold Beauty Reimagined vision, Brian’s deep expertise and fresh perspectives will be pivotal in executing the biggest technology and operational transformation in our company’s history.”

Previously, Franz served as Executive Vice President, Global Chief Information Officer, and Head of Enterprise Resiliency at State Street, where he oversaw the organization’s technology, resiliency, and data strategies.
Known for his innovative approach and focus on user-centric solutions, Franz has a proven track record of scaling global operations while prioritizing excellence and efficiency.
Before his tenure at State Street, Franz held prominent positions at Diageo PLC, including Chief Productivity Officer and Chief Information Officer, as well as serving as the Chief Information Officer at PepsiCo International. Earlier in his career, he contributed to the success of major corporations like GE and AT&T.
This appointment follows the nomination of Michael Bowes as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer, effective April 1, 2025.
Bowes will be responsible for driving the organization forward through continuous culture building.
He will oversee all areas of Global Human Resources, including talent management, career development, and organizational design.
Michael Bowes succeeds Michael O’Hare, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, who announced his retirement and will resign on April 1, 2025.
