Givaudan unveils smartphone-controlled aroma device to revolutionize flavour development

This innovation reflects Givaudan’s commitment to enhancing consumer experiences and staying at the forefront of flavour and fragrance technology.

SWITZERLAND – Givaudan,a Swiss manufacturer of fragrances and active cosmetic ingredients, has launched Myromi, a new handheld device that is designed to transform how aromas are developed and tested.

This patent-pending, innovative technology is controlled using a smartphone.

Myromi supports up to eight flavour channels, enabling users to create customized aroma combinations in real time.

It enables instant customer feedback by allowing real-time blending and adjustments of aromas.

The device is lightweight and portable, making it suitable for use in various settings.

Myromi also provides a cost-effective way for brands to engage audiences and gain valuable insights during the co-creation process.

Fabio Campanile, Global Head of Science & Technology, Givaudan Taste & Wellbeing, stated, “Once connected, users can explore saved aroma profiles, create new blends, leave comments, enter liking scores and fill out surveys.”

“These capabilities eliminate much of the guesswork involved in formulation. From quickly determining product development direction to landing on the right flavour profile, the device is already delivering results.”

Set to be rolled out throughout 2025, Myromi is poised to redefine the landscape of aroma creation and customer collaboration.

This innovation reflects Givaudan’s commitment to enhancing consumer experiences and staying at the forefront of flavour and fragrance technology.

This device enhances collaboration throughout the product development process, enabling creators to co-develop flavours that accurately reflect evolving consumer preferences.

Recently, the company launched an enhanced version of its Zap platform, designed to highlight the strong link between odour reduction and improved well-being.

The updated Zap platform integrates artificial intelligence, sustainable ingredients, and advanced perfumery expertise to provide tailored odour-control solutions for personal care, household, textile, and pet-related applications.

The platform addresses specific malodours through dedicated technologies, customised according to regional factors, climate variations, and the unique needs of consumers.

These include DeoZap for deodorant odour control, YouZap for personal care, FabZap for laundry freshness, HomeZap for living spaces, and PetZap for pet-related odours, all designed to improve well-being by combining advanced malodour science with eco-friendly and innovative technologies.

This strategy responds to growing consumer demand for sustainable, multifunctional scent solutions that effectively eliminate odours while promoting wellbeing.
