Primark expands footprint in Middle East with two new retail stores in Kuwait and Dubai

This strategic move will mark its 18th and 19th international market entries globally.

MIDDLE EAST – Primark, an international retailer, is set to expand to the Middle East through a strategic partnership with Alshaya Group, a multinational retail franchise operator headquartered in Kuwait.

According to Primark, the first store will open at The Avenues in Kuwait in October 2025, followed by three locations in Dubai, that is at Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, and City Centre Mirdif—in early 2026.

This strategic move will mark its 18th and 19th international market entries globally.

Primark Interim CEO, Eoin Tonge, stated, “We’re excited to be taking the next step in our global expansion journey, creating new stores for more customers to enjoy shopping with us.”

“We know there is already a strong cohort of shoppers ready and waiting for us, and we believe the wider region holds a lot of potential for Primark and our value proposition.”

“We can’t wait to bring them their first Primark later this year in The Avenues, Kuwait, before we continue to expand with more stores planned for Dubai next year.”

This expansion aligns with Primark’s global growth strategy, bringing its affordable fashion, homeware, and beauty products to a new customer base.

Primark operates more than 460 stores in 17 markets, providing customers with high-quality fashion and essential products at budget-friendly prices.

Recently, Primark announced a €40 million(USD 45.1million) investment to expand its presence in Italy, adding five new stores across Rome, Biella, Perugia, and two in Naples.

This move will bring the retailer’s total store count in Italy to 26, reinforcing its commitment to affordable fashion, beauty, and homeware.

The new stores will feature self-service checkouts, enhancing the shopping experience while maintaining the brand’s focus on customer convenience and accessibility.

This investment follows Primark’s €50 million(USD 56.24 million) expansion in 2023, which introduced stores in Turin, Livorno, Salerno, Cosenza, and Genoa, further solidifying its presence across the country.

According to Primark, the new stores will support the local communities by creating approximately 70 new jobs.

Luca Ciuffreda, Director of Primark Italy, said, “I’m so proud of our growth journey in Italy: in just nine years, we’ve expanded to 18 stores across 10 provinces and there’s so much more potential.”

Primark Beauty offers a wide range of affordable makeup, skincare, and fragrance products.
