Shailesh Jejurikar to lead P&G as CEO from 2026 in planned leadership restructure

In his new role, Jejurikar will lead Procter & Gamble’s global operations and strategic direction.

USA – Procter & Gamble (P&G) has announced that Shailesh Jejurikar, currently Chief Operating Officer, will become President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2026, as part of a planned leadership restructuring.

Jejurikar will succeed the current CEO, Jon Moeller, who will transition to an Executive Chairman role, leading the board and advising Jejurikar.

P&G’s board expressed strong confidence in Jejurikar’s leadership, highlighting his significant contributions to the company’s growth and renewed strategies.

Joe Jimenez, Lead Director of P&G’s Board, emphasized that Jejurikar is an outstanding leader who will build on the solid foundation previously established.

He stated, “Shailesh has been an integral part of P&G’s leadership team with substantial contributions across multiple businesses and in both developed and developing regions, notably in Fabric Care and Home Care and most recently in P&G’s Enterprise markets.”

“Shailesh is an outstanding leader, and the Company will benefit from his ongoing leadership to build on the strong foundation he has helped create.”

Jejurikar, an alumnus of IIM Lucknow, joined P&G in 1989 and has held various senior leadership roles across multiple regions and business sectors, including fabric care, home care, supply chain, IT, and global business services.

Before becoming COO, he was CEO of P&G’s Fabric & Home Care division, which includes brands like Tide, Ariel, Downy, and Febreze, accounting for about a third of P&G’s sales and earnings.

His broad experience in both developed and emerging markets has contributed to strong business results and operational excellence.

This leadership transition occurs amid P&G’s broader ambition for operational excellence and workforce restructuring, including strategic exits from certain brands and markets, aiming to position the company for future growth in a challenging global consumer goods environment.

P&G owns many globally recognized brands, including Ariel, Tide, Pampers, Gillette, Oral-B, and Head & Shoulders, operating in around 70 countries worldwide.

Meanwhile, P&G recently announced a leadership transition within its Speciality Beauty Division, appointing John Brownlee as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Brownlee, who currently serves as Senior Vice President of North America Hair Care, will assume his new role effective August 1, 2025, while continuing to oversee P&G’s hair care portfolio.

Brownlee succeeds Colin Walsh, who has led the division since July 2023.
