Prada expands product portfolio with new chai- scented fragrance

The perfume balances gourmand comfort and refined elegance, positioning it as a winter-friendly option in the minimalist Les Infusions lineup.

ITALY – Prada has expanded its Les Infusions de Prada collection with Infusion de Santal Chai, a unisex eau de parfum inspired by the comforting warmth of a chai latte.

This latest addition blends creamy sandalwood with spicy chai notes, cardamom, citrus, and musks for a cosy yet sophisticated scent profile.

The perfume fuses a chai latte accord, evoking milky sweetness and aromatic spices, with woody sandalwood depth and fresh citrus vibrancy.

During the launch, Prada stated, “Infusion de Santal Chai unexpectedly fuses creamy sandalwood with the spicy notes of chai latte accord, creating a warm and cosy scent, lifted by a fresh touch of citrus and cardamom, plus the clean and comforting facets of musks.”

The bottle features a warm brown hue mirroring chai’s tones, topped with a camel-colored Saffiano cap, maintaining Prada’s clean, luxurious aesthetic.

High-quality materials emphasize the brand’s attention to detail in this modern reinterpretation.

The perfume was conceived by master perfumer Daniela Andrier under the creative guidance of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, forming part of the Les Infusions de Prada collection.

In India, the chai-inspired scent has sparked mixed responses, from delight among tea lovers to debates over cultural appropriation, echoing Prada’s 2025 Kolhapuri chappal controversy.

Late last year, Prada Beauty unveiled its new masculine fragrance, Prada Paradigme.

The scent embodies a bold, innovative vision of masculinity that embraces multidimensional identity and self-expression.

Developed in collaboration with L’Oréal Group and crafted by perfumers Marie Salamagne, Bruno Jovanovic, and Nicolas Bonneville, the fragrance introduces a unique “reverse pyramid” composition.

Paradigme has a warm, smoky, amber-woody base note, followed by Peru balsam, benzoin resin, and guaiac wood.

The fragrance comes in an architectural, refillable bottle featuring a green ombre glass and a black cap, designed to evoke the essence of Paradigme with sharp, modern lines and bevelled edges.

Meanwhile, Prada acquired Versace in a landmark USD 1.4 billion (€1.25 billion) deal, returning the iconic fashion house to Italian ownership after years under U.S.-based Capri Holdings.
