Primark opens second store in Dubai at City Centre Mirdif

This move comes just two weeks after Primark opened the doors at Dubai Mall.

UAE – Primark has opened its second store in Dubai at City Centre Mirdif, marking a rapid expansion into the UAE retail market.

Spanning over 35,000 square feet across one sales floor, the outlet offers Primark’s signature affordable fashion, beauty products, accessories, footwear, and homeware in a modern retail environment tailored for families in the Mirdif neighbourhood.

Operated in partnership with Alshaya Group, this follows the Dubai Mall flagship and signals aggressive UAE growth, with a third Dubai store planned for Mall of the Emirates this spring, plus entries into Bahrain and Qatar later in 2026.

Jose Luis Martinez De Larramendi, Director of International Expansion at Primark, said, “There has already been a fantastic response from customers, and it’s clear there’s a strong appetite for Primark’s offering in the UAE.”

“ Opening in Mirdif allows us to reach even more customers across the city and, together with our partners at Alshaya Group, this marks another important step in building our presence in Dubai and across the wider region.”

A ribbon-cutting ceremony featured key figures, including Ghansham “G” Pindoria, Vice President of Primark Middle East; Andre Melo, Managing Director of UAE Majid Al Futtaim Malls; Huda Almazmi, Associate Director of City Centre Mirdif; and Mohammed Feras Arayqat from Dubai Festival Retail Establishment.

This second Dubai store is part of a five-store push in 2026: a third UAE outlet at Mall of the Emirates is slated for later spring, followed by debuts in Bahrain (City Centre Bahrain) and Qatar (Doha Festival City) by year-end.

These moves will expand Primark’s global footprint to 21 markets, despite softer sales elsewhere.

It employs more than 300 staff and emphasizes accessible style for women, men, kids, and home needs.

Primark’s swift UAE rollout underscores its aggressive Gulf strategy, prioritizing high-traffic malls to capture demand for value-driven retail in a competitive market.

This move comes after Primark recently made its official debut in the United Arab Emirates with the opening of a flagship store at The Dubai Mall, marking its second Middle East market after Kuwait.

The Dubai Mall unit spans approximately 60,000 sq ft (around 5,600 sq m) and operates as a single‑floor global flagship, positioned inside one of the world’s busiest shopping destinations.
