IMCD expands footprint with new Technical Centre in Istanbul

TURKEY – IMCD Group has launched a new Technical Centre in Istanbul’s Ataşehir district to boost formulation development and customer-driven innovation in the distribution of speciality chemicals and ingredients.

This advanced facility unifies previously independent labs for food and nutrition, beauty and personal care, and coatings and construction into a single hub.

In addition, the launch introduces IMCD’s inaugural pharmaceutical lab in Turkey, enabling comprehensive support for solid, liquid, and semi-solid dosage forms containing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), with risk-based strategies and Quality by Design (QbD) principles aligned with global standards. 

Key features include the Beauty and Personal Care Lab & Beauty Studio for developing colored cosmetics, skincare, sunscreens, haircare, and hygiene products with multi-functional prototypes emphasizing texture, sensory appeal, performance, and scalability.

The Food and Nutrition Applications Lab for crafting innovative solutions in dairy, bakery, beverages, confectionery, meat, and savoury categories through prototypes and pilot trials that optimize taste, texture, nutrition, and functionality.

The Coatings and Construction Lab for testing decorative, industrial, and protective paints, wood and floor coatings, ceramic adhesives, self-levelling screeds, and external thermal insulation systems under realistic conditions.

Meanwhile, the new Pharmaceutical Lab will handle complex projects with comprehensive support, enhancing regional capabilities.
