The high-pressure capability makes the KOB series suitable for nearly all dairy, beverage, food, and select chemical, cosmetic, and personal care applications requiring precise particle micronization.

GERMANY – GEA, one of the world’s largest systems suppliers for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors, has unveiled a new line of homogenizers designed to make industrial-grade processing performance more accessible to smaller personal care manufacturers, food, and beverage companies.
The company is presenting the complete range of its KOB series, a cost-efficient line of homogenizers reaching pressures of up to 400 bar.
The series is aimed at giving small and medium production plants access to industrial-grade performance at an attractive investment level, with four models, KOB 11, 22, 45 and 90, offering compact, hygienic and flexible solutions across food, beverage, chemical and personal care applications, including homogenizing and feeding spray dryers.
Capacity across the range ranges from 700 litres per hour to 18,000 litres per hour.
According to GEA, the optimized and compact mechanical construction, lower noise levels, simplified maintenance access and efficient power use create a strong value proposition for both existing plants and new production lines.
At the core of the design is a robust high-pressure system capable of stable, efficient homogenization for demanding, moderately viscous, and abrasive applications.
The compact build is a key selling point for smaller operators. The architecture is enabled by an optimized crankcase and gear-reducer design, and because the drive compartment requires neither complex oil cooling systems nor forced-air ventilation, the machines rely on fewer auxiliary components.
This, GEA says, allows growing processors to swap out legacy homogenizers or insert a new KOB unit into an existing line without costly structural changes to the factory floor.
On materials and customization, the base configuration uses competitively priced wear-resistant parts suited to standard, non-abrasive products, while optional high-wear-resistant materials are available to extend service life for more demanding, abrasive formulations.
Higher-efficiency homogenizing valve technology is also offered as an option for diverse processing needs.
On the automation side, the KOB series offers a modular architecture, ranging from basic motor-starter solutions to comprehensive PLC/HMI controls, with optional pressure gauges and transmitters at both homogenization stages and the outlet, enabling integration with SCADA and plant-wide automation systems.
