The SENSORA platform is adaptable for diverse delivery formats, from personal care to home care, while working alongside its other scent‑performance tools.

USA – IFF has unveiled SENSORA™, a patent-pending pro-fragrance technology platform created to elevate scent performance across home, fabric, and personal care products.
Designed in response to growing consumer demand for longer-lasting and more refined fragrance experiences, SENSORA™ delivers a layered olfactive profile with sustained release that continues well after initial use.
Ana Paula Mendonça, president of IFF Scent, said: “With SENSORA™, we are advancing fragrance performance into a new territory, one where scent continues to reveal itself in real life, long after the first moment of use.”
“By combining pro-fragrance science with our deep expertise in fragrance design, we are creating more enduring, more meaningful experiences that bring consumers joy.”
At its core, a pro-fragrance is a delivery system that releases scent in a controlled way. SENSORA™ uses an advanced mechanism that gradually reveals different scent dimensions over time, with activation triggered by light, both indoors and outdoors.
This creates a phased fragrance release from storage through wear, helping the scent evolve naturally over time.
According to IFF, SENSORA™ is designed to keep fragrance noticeable beyond washing and into everyday use, uncover new scent facets over time, and extend scent perception for up to 20 days after activation.
The first application on the platform is Floral Fusion, a light-activated pro-fragrance for liquid detergents that delivers a long-lasting, evolving floral scent to dry fabrics and enhances the fragrance experience beyond the original signature.
IFF also points to research from a 2026 global usage and attitudes survey across 17 countries showing a clear shift in consumer priorities.
More than one-third of respondents expect laundry fragrance to last longer, while nearly one in four want it to remain noticeable for at least four days.
SENSORA™ is positioned as a direct response to those expectations, with premium scent performance intended to work in real-world conditions.
Mohammed Ashour, vice president of innovation for IFF Scent, explained that its light-activated mechanism gives perfumers greater control over how scent develops, allowing new fragrance facets to emerge over time while also providing a flexible platform for innovation across different product categories.
IFF has positioned SENSORA™ as a new tool for perfumers and formulators within its product innovation portfolio and will provide technical and application support through its scent teams and client channels.
