Prequel Skin strengthens executive team with new appointments

The new executives will help expand its visibility, sharpen its marketing strategy, and build on consumer demand as it grows its omnichannel business.

USA – Prequel Skin, the dermatologist-founded skincare brand created by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Samantha Ellis, has named Nathalie Kristo as Chief Executive Officer and Toral Patel as Chief Marketing Officer.

The appointments come as the company says its fast-paced growth has made seasoned operational leadership increasingly important for guiding the brand’s next stage of expansion.

Dr. Samantha Ellis, founder of Prequel Skin, stated,  “As we look toward the future, it was important to bring in leaders who not only have incredible track records of building successful beauty businesses, but who also deeply believe in our mission.”

“Nathalie and Toral are exceptional leaders, and I’m thrilled to have them helping shape the next chapter of Prequel.”

Founded to connect dermatologic expertise with accessible, effective skincare, Prequel has built a loyal following through science-backed formulas, skin education and a focus on skin health.

As the brand scales, Ellis is seeking leaders who share her ambition of building a clinically credible, consumer-trusted skincare company.

Kristo will lead Prequel’s overall growth strategy as CEO.

She brings more than 25 years of beauty industry experience, including nearly two decades at L’Oréal, where she held senior leadership roles, including senior vice president of marketing for L’Oréal Paris USA and global brand president of NYX Professional Makeup.

After L’Oréal acquired NYX, she helped turn it from a digitally native breakout brand into a major global success.

She later served as CEO of Huda Beauty, where she helped scale both Huda Beauty and Kayali.

Kristo said she was drawn to Prequel because it combines dermatologic authority, clinically proven products and strong consumer appeal at an accessible price point.

On the other hand, Patel joins as CMO and will oversee marketing, creative and e-commerce.

She has more than 15 years of experience across prestige and mass beauty, most recently serving as senior vice president and head of marketing and e-commerce at Kopari Beauty, where she helped position the company as a leading prestige player at Ulta.

She has also held marketing roles at The Estée Lauder Companies and L’Oréal.
