The launch marks a strategic bridge between skincare and makeup, delivering hydration, radiance, and buildable coverage in a single, breathable formula.

USA – K-beauty brand Mixsoon has entered the makeup category for the first time, launching its PDRN Collagen Tinted Moisturizers on Amazon and extending its “skin-first” skincare philosophy into complexion products.
The launch marks a strategic bridge between skincare and makeup, delivering hydration, radiance, and buildable coverage in a single, breathable formula.
The tinted moisturizer contains 74% skin-active essence and is formulated with rice-derived PDRN, low-molecular-weight collagen, and peptides.
Clinical testing shows 24-hour wear and an instant +32% blurring effect, with water- and humidity-resistant performance that creates a second-skin finish.
The formula uses elastomer gel, silica, and mica to create a soft-focus effect that visually softens pores and uneven skin texture.
Amy Lee, Mixsoon’s global head of marketing, explained that the brand did not want to “cover” the skin but to refine it, translating Mixsoon’s ingredient-focused skincare DNA into a base product that helps skin look like itself, only more hydrated and healthy.
The tinted moisturizer was chosen as the first makeup step because it is breathable, effortless, and suitable for daily wear, aligning with Mixsoon’s belief that complexion products should support, not hide, the skin.
Lee noted that consumers no longer treat skincare and makeup as separate steps. With the rise of the “clean girl” aesthetic, they want complexion products that enhance healthy, glowing skin rather than mask it.
The 74% essence base is not a cosmetic claim but the foundation of the formula, ensuring the product feels like skincare while delivering a soft-refining makeup finish.
The biggest formulation challenge was balancing skincare benefits with makeup performance.
Adding PDRN, collagen, and peptides risked making the texture too rich, slippery, or short-wearing.
Mixsoon’s solution was a “sheer layering skin-veil texture” that spreads smoothly, fits the skin’s natural contours, and builds in thin, flexible layers for 24-hour wear without heaviness.
The collection launched with 10 adaptive shades, designed to blend naturally across different skin tones while maintaining K-beauty’s lightweight, breathable signature.
Lee acknowledged that K-beauty base products have historically had limited shade ranges and that inclusivity is an ongoing process as Mixsoon grows globally.
Fingertip, tool-free application is central to Mixsoon’s “Easy-Wearing” concept, reflecting a broader consumer shift toward simplified, intuitive beauty routines.
The brand is also introducing tools to help users mix and adjust shades for a more personalized match.
Lee emphasized that viral social media moments are critical in beauty, especially on TikTok, where consumers discover, evaluate, and purchase products.
However, long-term value depends on the real-world product experience matching the online hype.
The viral response to the PDRN Collagen Tinted Moisturizer confirmed that consumers are actively seeking complexion products that feel intuitive, skin-like, and easy to integrate into daily routines.
Looking ahead, Mixsoon sees the next generation of complexion products moving toward a balanced standard: long wear, comfort, and skin realism. Water-resistant, glow-enhancing, and skin-like formulas are gaining momentum as consumers expect base products that stay in place while remaining breathable and natural-looking.
