The final purchase of the residual holding will be linked to the brand’s performance during the transition period.

INDIA – Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting is entering India’s fast-growing premium skincare market through the acquisition of a 60% controlling stake in Ahmedabad-based Dermatouch at a valuation of ₹387.5 crore (USD 40.5 million).
The deal represents Wipro Consumer Care’s first major move into digital-first, science-backed skincare and will be followed by the acquisition of Dermatouch’s remaining 40% stake over the next three years.
During this period, the founders will continue managing the brand, while Wipro is expected to support its expansion through greater access to research and development, distribution infrastructure and consumer-goods expertise.
Dermatouch was established in 2021 by Anish Nagpal and Amit Purswani.
The brand has built its presence as a digital-led skincare company, offering premium products positioned around science and targeted skincare solutions.
Its revenue more than doubled during FY26 to ₹131 crore ( USD 13.8 million), representing a 114% increase from the previous financial year.
The company’s monthly sales have also risen significantly, highlighting the momentum it has achieved since its launch.
Nagpal and Purswani, together with Dermatouch’s existing management team, will continue to lead the business throughout the three-year transition.
This arrangement is intended to retain the founders’ operational experience and preserve the brand’s growth trajectory while Wipro brings in its research, development, distribution and consumer-business capabilities.
The continued involvement of the existing leadership is also expected to support a smoother integration of the digital-first brand into Wipro Consumer Care’s wider portfolio.
The acquisition gives Wipro an immediate presence in India’s premium skincare category, which the company estimates is worth approximately ₹30,000 crore (USD 315.6 million) and is expanding at an annual rate of 15% to 16%.
Wipro expects the broader personal-care market to grow substantially over the coming decade, potentially reaching ₹3 lakh crore (USD 31.56 billion).
By acquiring Dermatouch rather than creating a new skincare business from the ground up, Wipro gains access to an established brand, a rapidly expanding online consumer base and a business model designed for digital commerce.
The acquisition will be undertaken through Wipro Enterprises, the unlisted entity that houses Wipro’s consumer-care business, and is separate from the listed Wipro Limited information-technology company.
Wipro Consumer Care reported FY26 revenue of ₹11,635 crore (USD 1.22 billion), an increase of 9.3% year on year, giving the business a sizeable operating platform from which to scale Dermatouch.
