Stahl showcased Senoprint® at LOUPE Americas 2026 in Chicago.

NETHERLANDS – Stahl, a global supplier of speciality coatings for flexible materials, has launched its Senoprint® portfolio of metallic coatings worldwide, delivering high‑brilliance metallic finishes for packaging applications.
Designed to deliver striking metallic effects directly during the print run, Senoprint® offers a proven, recyclable alternative to traditional foil stamping.
The Senoprint® range builds on a well‑established, commercially successful line previously marketed as LustreCoat in North America, and by unifying these products under a single global brand, Stahl now makes high‑brilliance metallic coatings available to brand owners and converters worldwide.
The portfolio offers a more cost‑effective, recyclable solution than hot foil stamping and cold foil application, helping customers simplify production, cut waste, and achieve a luxurious, mirror‑like finish without a separate foiling operation.
Paul Grzebielucha, Group Director of Packaging Coatings at Stahl, said, “With Senoprint®, we are bringing our proven technologies together under one global brand.” “The portfolio combines premium visual performance, production efficiency and packaging recyclability, supporting our customers to create packaging that stands out on the shelf while supporting more efficient, future-ready production.”
Engineered for premium packaging and labelling, the enhanced portfolio delivers higher brilliance levels and can be applied to paper and board using sheetfed, screen and flexographic processes, as well as narrow web applications.
Senoprint® currently includes silver and gold finishes, with additional metallic colours achievable through overprinting.
Every metallic coating application is paired with a protective topcoat developed in‑house by Stahl and formulated as a single system with the metallic coatings; these topcoats help preserve brilliance while providing strong resistance to abrasion, handling and environmental factors, reducing the risk of damage and keeping packaging looking brilliant throughout its lifecycle.
The range is available in both UV‑based and water‑based formulations, engineered to meet worldwide requirements and support lower‑VOC packaging solutions.
The coatings are designed to be de‑inked and recovered through standard paper recycling streams, helping customers reduce waste and comply with evolving regulations such as the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), while aligning with the broader global shift toward more circular packaging.
The launch comes shortly after Stahl recently updated its Sensora® portfolio of high‑performance haptic coatings, enabling brands to create distinctive tactile packaging that engages consumers through touch as well as sight.
The range delivers finishes from soft and velvety to smooth, silky, rubbery and textured, turning packaging into a multisensory experience.
Designed for paper and board, narrow web and flexible packaging, Sensora® suits diverse food and non‑food applications, including folding cartons, labels, flexible food packaging, cosmetics, tech products and luxury goods. Paul Grzebielucha, Group Director of Packaging Coatings at Stahl, says Sensora® helps brands harness the power of touch by pairing tactile differentiation with proven coating performance to boost consumer engagement and strengthen brand identity.
The portfolio includes water‑based and energy‑curable technologies that provide matte, soft‑feel and other haptic effects while meeting strict safety and sustainability standards, with selected products offering food‑contact compliance such as FDA, Swiss Ordinance, German Ink Ordinance, ISEGA and EuPIA.
