It helps fragrance attach to and stay on fabrics, enabling detergent makers to offer longer-lasting scents.

BELGIUM – Syensqo has introduced Jaguar Care, a guar-derived polymer designed to improve fragrance deposition, fabric softness, and garment protection in laundry detergents.
The speciality chemicals company describes the ingredient as a natural, microplastic-free option that supports sensory performance in standard, short and cold wash cycles.
Jaguar Care aims to soften fabrics and protect fibres through repeated washing. Syensqo says the polymer can help limit pilling, smooth surface fuzz, and maintain garment quality over time.
The multifunctional ingredient is intended for manufacturers creating products that combine cleaning with fabric care.
“Jaguar Care gives laundry detergent formulators a new solution to create differentiated products that combine a best-in-class sensorial experience with convenience and care,” said Max Chabert, Syensqo’s global marketing manager for home care.
“It enables formulators to combine cleaning and care benefits in convenient two-in-one laundry products, while helping consumers keep their clothes looking and feeling good for longer.”
Jaguar Care’s launch reflects the laundry sector’s broader interest in products that do more than clean.
Jaguar Care is designed to perform in short and cold wash cycles, supporting the development of detergents suited to quicker, lower-temperature washing.
These approaches are gaining traction as consumers and manufacturers look for laundry practices with a smaller environmental footprint.
Syensqo says the ingredient meets consumer demand for long-lasting fragrance, ease of use, and longer-lasting garments, while helping manufacturers develop effective laundry products and more sustainable clothing-care options.
Earlier this year, Syensqo expanded its laundry care offerings by launching Rhodasurf B7 UP, a high-performance natural surfactant designed for sustainable liquid detergents and hard surface cleaners.
Syensqo produces Rhodasurf B7 UP, a laureth-7 surfactant made with bio-circular, upcycled ethylene oxide feedstocks at its ISCC PLUS-certified ethoxylation facility in Moerdijk, Netherlands.
Similarly, Givaudan recently introduced Scentaurus PolyDoux, a fragrance technology for laundry and hair-care products featuring raspberry and powdery vanilla notes, designed to provide a longer-lasting scent.
Ingredient suppliers and detergent producers are increasingly combining lasting fragrance, softness, and garment protection to create a richer sensory experience while supporting clothing care.
By combining these functions in one guar-based ingredient, Jaguar Care may help formulators avoid relying on separate technologies for fragrance deposition and fabric conditioning.
The industry’s focus on more ecological laundry care has grown in recent years.
At the SEPAWA Congress 2025 in Germany, Clariant presented TexCare One Terra, a soil-release polymer for concentrated liquid detergents and laundry capsules.
The company said the product works at lower formulation doses and can improve energy efficiency for both consumers and manufacturers. Its compact format may also reduce logistical requirements.
