LVMH appoints Alexandre Oulès as Chief Operating Officer of beauty division

Oulès brings deep operational expertise built over nearly three decades in luxury and beauty.

FRANCE – LVMH has appointed Alexandre Oulès as Chief Operating Officer of its Beauty Division in a newly created executive role designed to centralize and strengthen operational performance across the group’s beauty maisons.

Oulès, who began in the post in late August 2026, reports directly to Véronique Courtois, President and CEO of Parfums Christian Dior and of LVMH’s Beauty Division.

Oulès’ remit covers manufacturing, supply chain, and purchasing for the entire Beauty Division, with an explicit mandate to drive “stronger convergence” between maisons across these three functions.

He will lead LVMH Beauty’s operations community, tasked with improving efficiency, resilience, and delivery excellence while supporting the division’s profitability and sustainable growth.

Oulès is expected to standardize best practices, optimize end-to-end flows from raw materials to finished goods, and ensure that operational decisions support margin expansion and long-term brand equity.

The creation of the COO position signals a strategic push to integrate procurement, production, and logistics more tightly under a single divisional leadership layer as Courtois reshapes the beauty unit’s operating model.

Oulès most recently served as COO at Balenciaga for almost three years, and previously held senior operations roles inside LVMH, including Operations Director at Moët Hennessy (2021–2023) and a long tenure at Guerlain where he was COO for seven years (2007–2014) after serving as Plant General Manager.

Earlier in his career he worked at L’Oréal as a Production Engineer (1997–2001), and his skill set spans product development, manufacturing, purchasing, global supply chain, quality, and regulatory affairs.

Courtois highlighted his “pursuit of operational excellence” and familiarity with both the group and the beauty sector as key assets for raising overall operational efficiency.

The appointment comes as LVMH seeks to harmonize operations across a portfolio that includes Parfums Christian Dior, Guerlain, Givenchy Beauty, Fenty Beauty, and other prestige brands.

By placing manufacturing, procurement, and supply-chain leadership under one COO, the group aims to reduce fragmentation, leverage scale in sourcing and production, and align sustainability and growth objectives across maisons.

The appointment comes shortly after LVMH appointed former L’Oréal executive Sylvia Tournery as President of Sephora Collection, the beauty retailer’s private-label brand, marking a strategic move to strengthen its in-house beauty portfolio and accelerate the growth of its proprietary brand.
