The activation underscores Sol de Janeiro’s focus on combining product discovery with high-impact experiential retail in the travel channel.

TÜRKIYE – L’Occitane Travel Retail has launched a major Sol de Janeiro experiential activation at Antalya Airport Terminal 2 under the “Make Life Cheirosa” banner.
The activation works with the airport’s duty-free operator ATÜ Duty Free (a joint venture between TAV Airports and Unifree Duty Free/Gebr. Heinemann) and long-term partner Gebr. Heinemann.
The long-term installation, which began this month and will run through April, blends experiential retail, digital engagement, entertainment and product discovery to immerse travellers in Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian-inspired brand universe.
L’OCCITANE Group General Manager EMEAA, Global Travel Retail Mark Edington stated, “Our longstanding partnership with Gebr. Heinemann has gone from strength to strength over the years, and together we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in travel retail.”
“We are delighted that this strong partnership, along with the invaluable support and collaboration of ATÜ Duty Free, has enabled this activation.”
The centrepiece is a 360-degree experiential wellness lounge featuring oversized hero-product installations, digital video screens, discovery zones and dedicated fragrance and body-care displays.
Geo-targeted activity across Meta and Spotify engages travellers before they reach the terminal, while sampling, gifting and product-discovery touchpoints continue the campaign throughout the airport journey.
During the peak summer travel period, the experience is amplified with DJ performances and roller-skating performers distributing Sol de Janeiro–branded boarding passes across the terminal.
The partners celebrated the launch with an event that drew special guests and members of Sol de Janeiro’s local team.
The opening ceremony was attended by ATÜ Duty Free President and CEO Ersan Arcan; L’Occitane Group General Manager EMEAA Global Travel Retail Mark Edington; and Gebr. Heinemann Global Commercial Director Beauty Britta Hoffmann.
The installation will feature an evolving product assortment through to April, including new formats tailored to travellers.
Among the innovations is Jelly Perfume Balm, Sol de Janeiro’s first solid fragrance format: an alcohol-free twist-up balm available in Cheirosa 62, Cheirosa 68 and Cheirosa 40, designed as a portable fragrance that delivers up to ten hours of scent and can be swiped up to 1,000 times.
The Hydrating Jet Set, comprising Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist, Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter and Body Badalada Vitamin-Infused Lotion in travel-friendly formats, is another stand-out, alongside an expanded Body Badalada collection.
Meanwhile, Sol de Janeiro’s new Intense Mists and Holiday collections are scheduled to join the offer later in 2026, with further innovations planned through spring 2027, complemented by travel retail–exclusive (TREX) gifting and purchase rewards.
