L’Oréal introduces Aesop to Qatar Duty Free at Hamad International Airport

For L’Oréal Travel Retail, the opening represents a milestone in expanding Aesop’s presence in the Middle East travel channel and in shaping premium beauty at Hamad International Airport

QATAR – L’Oréal-owned skincare and fragrance brand Aesop has opened its first boutique in Qatar through a partnership with Qatar Duty Free at Hamad International Airport in Doha, marking the brand’s debut in the country’s travel retail channel.

The boutique is located in the South Node of Hamad International Airport and has been designed to reflect Qatar’s geography and architectural heritage, featuring a rammed-earth rear wall and coral stone central counters that blend Aesop’s minimalist aesthetic with regional influences.

The space is intended to offer travellers a sense of place and calm, positioning the store as a sanctuary within the airport journey.

The store carries Aesop’s core portfolio of skin, hair, body care and fragrance formulations within a travel-focused retail concept.

In addition to full-size products, it offers on-the-spot treatments using items such as Immediate Moisture Facial Hydrosol and Immaculate Facial Tonic, handmade tea bags for in-flight enjoyment, deluxe samples and Aesop’s signature furoshiki gift-wrapping service to reinforce the brand’s gifting and travel-retail proposition.

Eva Yu, President of L’Oréal Travel Retail, stated, “We believe travel retail is at its best when it reshapes the codes of retail and sets the highest standards.”

“At Hamad International Airport, in close partnership with Qatar Duty Free, we set out to create memorable experiences that truly become part of the traveller’s journey.”

Qatar Duty Free framed the partnership as part of its ongoing commitment to introducing world-renowned brands to Hamad International Airport and elevating the travel retail experience through Doha, with the arrival of Aesop adding a premium, design-led beauty brand to the airport’s offer at a time when luxury and niche beauty are increasingly central to travel retail strategies in the Middle East.

The boutique’s emphasis on local materials, sensory rituals and travel-specific services aligns with wider industry moves to differentiate airport retail through experiential, destination-style concepts rather than purely transactional formats.
