The launch responds to growing consumer demand for skincare that combines proven efficacy, natural-origin credentials and responsible innovation.
GERMANY- Symrise has introduced Dragosine® green, a natural-origin cosmetic ingredient developed to help beauty brands create skin longevity and prejuvenation products.
The new ingredient contains L-carnosine sourced entirely from plants and produced through advanced green biotechnology. With a natural origin index of 1, Dragosine® green combines the established performance of L-carnosine with a fully natural-origin profile.
According to Symrise, the ingredient can support the development of high-performance skincare products designed to help maintain skin quality over time and deliver visible improvements.
Nathalie Chevrot, Global Skin Care Category Director, Advanced Actives at Symrise, said Dragosine® green brings together the established efficacy and scientific heritage of the Dragosine® range with the natural-origin profile and formulation flexibility increasingly sought by beauty brands.
She added that the ingredient is intended to help customers move beyond traditional anti-ageing claims and develop skincare concepts centred on skin longevity and long-lasting resilience.
Through the launch, Symrise is adding a multifunctional skin-longevity dipeptide to its Care & Wellness portfolio. Dragosine® green supports the industry’s movement away from conventional corrective anti-ageing products towards proactive well-aging and prejuvenation concepts.
Building on the scientific heritage of the Dragosine® range, the natural-origin version combines the recognized performance of L-carnosine with a 100% natural-origin profile achieved through biofermentation.
The launch also reflects Symrise’s health-span beauty strategy, which focuses on helping consumers maintain skin quality and resilience for longer.
Dragosine® green is designed to support skin longevity through three complementary areas: comprehensive exposome protection, structural skin longevity and visible skin improvement.
The ingredient helps protect the skin from exposome-related stressors, including ultraviolet-induced oxidative stress, blue light, infrared radiation and heat.
It also supports biological mechanisms associated with long-term skin health, such as collagen formation, protection against glycation, epidermal cell proliferation and fibronectin production, while addressing processes linked to cellular senescence and age-related decline.
By combining these activities, Dragosine® green is intended to help maintain skin integrity, firmness and elasticity over time. Its profile makes it suitable for skincare concepts focused on longevity, prejuvenation and lasting skin resilience.
The water-soluble ingredient can be incorporated into a wide variety of cosmetic products. It offers strong stability under exposure to air and heat and remains effective at concentrations as low as 0.2%.
This formulation profile can support cost-efficient product development and applications across face care, body care, sun care, dermocosmetics and natural-origin skincare.
Recently, Symrise has introduced Mindera® Euca, expanding its innovative Mindera® platform to deliver fully plant-derived protection for rinse-off personal care products like shampoos and body washes.
This 100% plant-based ingredient, known as Piperitone (with INCI registration underway), enhances rinse-off formulas by improving foam density, volume, and texture, even in sulfate-free formulations, while ensuring reliable broad-spectrum antimicrobial defence across a wide pH range.
