McDonald takes over the role from Annie Young-Scrivner.

USA – The Wella Company, a leading global player in the beauty industry, has appointed Calvin McDonald as its new CEO, effective April 2, 2026.
He will also join the company’s Board of Directors and operate from its New York base, while Executive Chair Glenn Murphy stays on to ensure a seamless handover and provide ongoing strategic support.
MCDonald is succeeding Annie Young-Scrivner, who stepped down from the role on January 21, 2025.
Annie Young-Scrivner resigned as CEO and Board Director after four years, citing family matters, including her mother’s recovery from a third stroke, as shared in her LinkedIn post.
During her tenure, starting in December 2020, she helped rebuild brands, launch innovations, and drive revenue and EBITDA growth for Wella’s portfolio, including Wella Professionals, OPI, ghd, Briogeo, Nioxin, Sebastian Professional, and Clairol.
Glenn Murphy, who assumed oversight as Executive Chair following her departure, commended her foundational work before announcing McDonald’s appointment.
Murphy stated, “As a three-time CEO, he brings decades of experience at industry-leading global consumer brands and retail businesses. Calvin’s proven ability to drive results through product differentiation, category expansion, and smart investments will help us win in the dynamic beauty sector.”
McDonald brings extensive experience as a three-time CEO, with a strong history of scaling major consumer brands through innovation, market growth, and targeted investments.
His past roles include leading Lululemon Athletica, where he more than tripled annual revenue and expanded into over 30 markets, and driving five years of double-digit growth at Sephora Americas.
In addition, McDonald is a member of The Walt Disney Company’s Board of Directors.
This track record positions him to steer Wella through the fast-evolving beauty sector, building on its iconic portfolio, which leads in global professional hair colour sales.
McDonald expressed enthusiasm for re-entering beauty, an innovative field driven by passionate consumers, and aims to elevate Wella’s brands, collaborate with professionals, and forge deeper consumer connections.
Headquartered across New York and Geneva, The Wella Company focuses on professional and retail beauty solutions, including powerhouse brands in hair care and colouring that dominate their categories based on recent industry data.
This leadership shift marks a pivotal moment as the firm pursues its next growth phase amid global beauty trends.

In a similar move to strengthen its operational backbone, Revlon Consumer Products LLC has appointed Mario Rivera as its new Chief Operations Officer, effective February 16, 2026.
Rivera, previously serving as SVP and Chief Supply Chain & Logistics Officer at CVS Health, will report directly to CEO Michelle Peluso and lead a comprehensive overhaul of Revlon’s global supply chain, encompassing procurement, planning, manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, transportation, and customer logistics.
Mario Rivera brings over 25 years of experience across healthcare, MedTech, life sciences, retail/pharmacy, and global manufacturing, with prior leadership roles at CVS Health, Target, and other firms.
His track record includes scaling complex operations, deploying data-driven systems, robotics, and automation, and fostering high-performing teams, which Revlon highlights as critical for enhancing service, resilience, efficiency, and product availability.
