Hugel names Carrie Strom as President and Global CEO

The company seeks to accelerate its expansion in the Americas and other key global markets under Strom’s leadership.

SOUTH KOREA – Carrie Strom has been appointed Global Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hugel Inc., a leading South Korean medical aesthetics company, effective October 13, 2025.

Hugel announced that as the new global CEO, Strom will oversee the executive leadership team and is expected to join the company’s Board of Directors following approval at an upcoming shareholders’ meeting.

This appointment represents a strategic move by Hugel to accelerate its global expansion, particularly in the United States, leveraging Strom’s international experience.

Strom expressed pride in Hugel’s operations, stating, “I am honoured to join Hugel as the CEO and look forward to working alongside the talented and dedicated employees, operating team, and board of directors.”

“Hugel offers market-leading aesthetic products driven by science and the highest quality, which have always been grounded in Korean beauty standards.”

She added, “ My priority is to build on Hugel’s leadership in South Korea and transform it into a global aesthetics powerhouse, raising the bar for how we serve customers and patients around the world.”

The move comes alongside the recent appointment of Daniel Chang as CEO of Hugel Korea, creating a dual-leadership structure aimed at strengthening both domestic and overseas business operations.

Hugel is noted for being the only South Korean aesthetics firm with regulatory approvals in the US, China, and Europe, and maintains a strong financial position with impressive profit margins and more cash than debt.

The company currently exports its botulinum toxin products under the names Botulax and Letybo to 69 countries and dermal fillers to 53 countries.

Meanwhile, Hugel has recently strengthened its presence in the Latin American market by partnering with Brazil-based Derma Dream to launch its premium botulinum toxin product, Letybo.

This strategic distribution agreement leverages Derma Dream’s robust sales, marketing, and educational infrastructure, including training centres and academic programs, to effectively promote and distribute Letybo across Brazil, the world’s third-largest aesthetics market by country.

The partnership focuses not only on expanding product availability but also on professional training and collaboration with healthcare practitioners.

Pre-launch events held in early September 2025 in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo showcased Letybo’s advanced clinical data and procedural techniques to local dermatologists, dentists, and biotech professionals.

These events received highly positive feedback and are part of Hugel’s broader plan to position Letybo as a trusted premium choice for botulinum toxin consumers and medical professionals in Brazil.
