Scent of Africa introduces new perfume collection to Kenyan market

KENYA – Scent of Africa, a Ghanian fragrance house created by Ghandour Cosmetics Ltd., officially unveiled its “Eternal Legends” luxury fragrance collection in Nairobi, Kenya.

This collection is a sophisticated homage to African mythology and heritage, featuring perfumes inspired by mythical African legends.

The Eternal Legends collection, launched in Ghana in March 2022, includes masculine and feminine fragrance duos like Rakh and Nefee, crafted in Ghana by renowned international perfumers.

The Nairobi launch marks the extension of the collection’s reach into the Kenyan market through a partnership with local luxury beauty retailers such as Lintons Beauty World, introducing the brand’s high-perfumery standards and unique African-identity fragrances.

Denis Gikunda, Managing Director of Lintons, the local retail partner, commented on the significance of the launch, stating, “This is more than just a market entry; it is a significant business development that underscores the growing potential of Africa’s luxury sector.”

He added that Kenya’s rising number of high-net-worth individuals and a discerning consumer base make it a key market for the brand’s expansion.

The collection is celebrated for blending African-sourced ingredients, such as Buchu from South Africa and Cedar from Morocco, and for emphasizing local natural materials that reflect Africa’s rich scent heritage.

Scent of Africa aims to showcase African culture globally through delicate fragrance, highlighting the continent’s creativity and craftsmanship in luxury perfumery.

The collection is available in 50ml and 10ml sizes in upscale retail environments in Kenya and other African countries.

The launch event in Nairobi underscored the brand’s commitment to luxury, quality, and celebrating African identity in the fragrance industry, solidifying its position as a unique luxury fragrance brand rooted in African excellence and storytelling.

The launch comes at a time when Kenya’s fragrance market is experiencing robust growth, with projected revenue of USD 367.76 million in 2025 and an annual growth rate of 4.76% through 2030.

Scent of Africa offers luxury fragrances such as Asante Sana, Yaba, and Rakh, each inspired by African landscapes, cultures, and personalities.

Their “For Him” and “For Her” collections feature bold, elegant scents crafted with traditional African ingredients and global perfumery expertise.
