Imperio Cosmetics expands portfolio with new haircare line

This launch emphasizes tailored solutions for diverse African hair textures, blending science, inclusivity, and consumer engagement.

NIGERIA – Imperio Cosmetics, a Nigerian cosmetics manufacturer,  has launched its Hair Harmony range in a garden-themed event, marking a pivotal moment for African beauty innovation.

The collection includes Strengthen Shampoo for fibre repair, Rosemary Oil, Hair Mist with nano scent technology and aloe vera, Leave-In Conditioner, and Hair Food.

These formulations address scalp health, hydration, and restoration for locs, fine hair, coarse textures, and even synthetic hair, using advanced ingredients like SILAB’s Exfolactive and dsm-firmenich’s Bond Aid.

The launch occurred at Lagos’ Alcove Event Spaces, featuring five interactive touchpoints like personalized demos, trichologist consultations, and science-backed sessions with formulation experts.

Attendees, including beauty professionals, creators, and influencers, tested products amid playful elements such as team trivia, Tic Tac Toe, and a Gem Bar for custom hair accessories, creating an immersive “Life in Harmony” experience.

Hosted by Omajaybrand, the event included games dividing guests into Team Harmony and Team Purple for hair trivia and Tic Tac Toe, blending fun with learning.

Hair Harmony addresses African hair textures, moisture demands, and daily care realities with science-backed formulations.

Marketing Director Roseline Abaraonye emphasized creating solutions responsive to these unique needs, while experts like Trichologist Adenuga Adeola and formulator Azhar Jomaa advised personalized use, more product for coarse hair, less for fine.

A Lounge and Play area offered a Gem Bar for custom hair accessories, praised by creator Fikunmi as a personal, engaging extension of product demos.

This setup fosters deeper understanding and loyalty in Nigeria’s growing haircare market, projected at USD 1.56 billion.

According to Statista, Nigeria’s haircare market is projected to generate about USD 1.06 billion in revenue by 2026, with a forecast CAGR of roughly 6–7% through 2029.

Per capita spending is expected to rise steadily, reaching around USD 4.40 by 2029, reflecting growing consumer investment in shampoos, conditioners, styling products, and natural oils.
