This partnership combines IFF’s 135-year creative legacy with the proven academic excellence that has made ISIPCA the world’s premier fragrance school.

SWITZERLAND – IFF is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its industry-leading accredited master ‘s-level program for scent design and creation, developed in partnership with ISIPCA, the world-renowned school for careers in perfume, cosmetics and food flavours.
The IFF ISIPCA Scent Design and Creation program has been pioneering fragrance education and excellence since 2016, when the partnership was originally signed. Located at ISIPCA’s Versailles, France campus, this three-year master’s program represents the first and only accredited program of its kind in the fragrance industry.
Since its launch in 2016, the IFF ISIPCA program has trained more than 180 professionals from 40 countries, with 130 graduates to date, and maintains an impressive 100% job-placement rate within 6 months of graduation.
The program is offered exclusively in English and provides students with a solid grounding in the art of perfumery, notably through mastery of 800 raw materials.
The curriculum includes practical training at IFF, a mentorship program with veteran perfumists, and courses in marketing and perfume history to prepare students for a career in perfumery.
The first graduating class consisted of 12 students from India, North America, Greece, South Korea, France, China and Japan, who officially received their certificates on June 24, 2019, in Versailles.
Nicolas Mirzayantz, IFF Fragrances Group President, stated that the partnership provides enhanced support for IFF’s Vision 2020 business strategy, where talent is a key enabler, and offers a wonderful opportunity to participate in training future perfumers and scent designers.
Cécille Ecalle, Director of ISIPCA, commented that the program symbolizes their desire to respond to an increasingly internationalized market in which expertise is essential. The program represents an industry-first collaboration, establishing a new framework for world-class perfumery education.
Meanwhile, IFF has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Food Ingredients business to funds advised by CVC Capital Partners, a leading global private markets manager, for a transaction valued at USD 4.3 billion, representing an enterprise value-to-EBITDA multiple of roughly 10x.
