Inolex president Art Knox elected to Independent Beauty Association Board of Directors

The appointment positions him among the industry leaders, guiding the association’s strategy and advocacy agenda for independent beauty brands and their supply partners.

USA – Inolex President Art Knox has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Independent Beauty Association (IBA), as of July 2026, reinforcing the company’s leadership role within the global independent beauty and speciality ingredients ecosystem.

The appointment highlights Knox’s stature as a veteran of the beauty and personal care sector and reflects IBA’s recognition of his experience in both brand support and speciality ingredient innovation.

By joining the IBA Board, Knox will help shape policies, programs, and resources that support independent beauty companies and the specialised suppliers that serve them, including ingredient manufacturers like Inolex.

His board role is expected to focus on advancing opportunities for innovators, strengthening the supply chain ecosystem, and promoting responsible, future‑focused practices across the industry.

Knox’s election builds on Inolex’s long‑standing involvement in trade and professional associations that serve independent beauty brands and formulators.

The move underscores Inolex’s commitment to sustainable, science-based innovation and its intent to help align industry standards, advocacy efforts, and education with the needs of both emerging and established indie players.

Art Knox’s leadership background

Art Knox serves as President of Inolex, leading the company’s strategic vision to deepen customer relationships and drive sustainable innovation across existing and emerging markets.

With more than four decades of industry experience, he has a track record of guiding commercial, innovation, and distribution strategies focused on delivering customer value and measurable sustainability impact.

His involvement is likely to strengthen bridges between brand owners and ingredient partners, particularly in areas such as clean, sustainable formulation design and agile innovation pipelines.

Meanwhile, Inolex develops and produces a broad portfolio of speciality ingredients for the beauty sector.

Its latest innovation is LexFeel® Enhance MB, a solubilizing network engineered to support the next wave of sun care formulations. The ingredient stabilizes organic UV filters, enables high filter loading, and improves the overall sensory feel of sunscreen products.

It serves as a particularly efficient stabilizer for Bemotrizinol (BEMT), Ethylhexyl Triazone (EHT), Bis-(Diethylaminohydroxybenzoyl Benzoyl) Piperazine (BMMT), as well as other widely used organic UV filters. By creating a polymer network, LexFeel® Enhance MB helps minimize the risk of recrystallization.

This delivers robust, high-SPF systems with the smooth, cushion-like sensory profile associated with the LexFeel® line.

Through such developments, Inolex continues to push for ingredients that are safer, more sustainable, and performance-driven.
