Cosmo Consumer enters automotive care market with Cosmo Guard Ceramic Coating

This diversification targets growing vehicle care needs among owners and detailers.

INDIA – Cosmo Consumer, part of Cosmo First, has expanded its portfolio into automotive care with the launch of Cosmo Guard, a premium nano-ceramic coating line for vehicles.

This move leverages the company’s expertise in speciality chemicals to complement its existing Paint Protection Film and Window Film offerings.

The Cosmo Guard range includes high-end ceramic coatings and specialized polishing compounds for precise vehicle surface preparation.

It features a rubbing compound that tackles medium-to-heavy defects like swirls and sanding marks, alongside a polishing compound that elevates gloss units from factory-standard 75–85 GU to an impressive 92–98 GU for superior light reflection and image distinction.

Unlike conventional abrasives, its sub-micron particles deliver uniform cutting action without micro-marring.

Abhineesh Das, Business Head at Cosmo Consumer, described the launch as a logical step in specialty chemicals and automotive protection, meeting rising demand for durable, aesthetic solutions that add long-term value to the company’s portfolio.

The nano-ceramic formula relies on Silicon Dioxide (SiO₂) to form robust covalent bonds with vehicle paint, providing enhanced scratch resistance, swirl protection during washes, and durability lasting two to five years, far surpassing traditional waxes or sealants.

It boasts strong hydrophobicity with a water contact angle up to 100 degrees for self-cleaning ease, plus resistance to petrol/diesel spills, UV rays, thermal stress up to 100°C, and high temperatures from 70–100°C.

Lab tests confirm excellence in scratch hardness, weatherability, fuel resistance, and hydrophobicity; the compounds are silicone-free, wax-free, and filler-free for safe professional use.

According to a report by Bonafide Research, the Indian Ceramic Coatings Market is projected to grow at a CAGR of around 9.4% during 2026–2031, driven by rising demand in the automotive, aerospace, energy, and defense sectors.

The report highlights that ceramic coatings are increasingly used for thermal barriers, corrosion resistance, and surface protection, making them vital for both consumer and industrial applications.

Cosmo Consumer offers a diverse portfolio across automotive, architectural, household, and personal care categories.

Their key products include high-performance window films, paint protection films, coatings, mosquito coils, detergents, soaps, toilet cleaners, and a wide range of skincare and beauty items.
