The appointment strengthens Jungbunzlauer‘s senior leadership team as it focuses on expanding and improving its global production network while supporting long-term growth.

SWITZERLAND – Jungbunzlauer, a global producer of high-quality, sustainable ingredients from natural sources, has appointed Marcus von Twistern as its new Executive Vice President (EVP) Operations and member of the Executive Committee, effective August 1, 2026.
In his new capacity, von Twistern takes responsibility for leading the company’s global manufacturing organization, operational performance, and long-term production network development across key facilities in Europe and North America.
Von Twistern brings more than 25 years of international leadership experience across chemical, bio-based, and process engineering operations to the Basel-headquartered company.
His background encompasses operational management, large-scale investment project execution, and global production governance across multiple geographies, including Germany, China, Italy, and the United States.
He joins Jungbunzlauer from UPM, the Finnish forest-industry group, where he most recently served as Vice President Operations.
Before that role, von Twistern held various senior leadership positions at Evonik Industries, where he directed operational excellence, performance management, and site governance across international production networks.
He holds a degree in Process Engineering from Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences and completed executive education at IMD Business School.
The leadership addition comes at a pivotal moment as Jungbunzlauer continues strengthening its global supply chain and manufacturing footprint to meet growing market demand for biodegradable, naturally derived ingredients.
As a primary supplier of high-purity acidulants, texturants, mineral salts, and natural sweeteners, the group relies on fermentation and refining capabilities to serve the food, beverage, personal care, healthcare, and industrial sectors.
Jungbunzlauer Chief Executive Officer Bruno Tremblay stated that von Twistern’s operational leadership and international experience will be key assets as the enterprise expands its global network and executes its long-term strategic agenda.
Expressing enthusiasm for his new position, von Twistern emphasized the strategic importance of supply reliability, continuous process optimization, and consistent product quality for global industrial customers.
He noted his intent to work closely with site management teams across regions to elevate operational efficiency, reinforce plant safety, and accelerate sustainable manufacturing practices in alignment with the group’s long-term growth ambitions.
