Albéa, Laboratoires SVR partner to revolutionize dermocosmetic packaging with sustainable tubes

This partnership underscores the growing demand for responsible packaging in the beauty sector, as consumers increasingly seek eco-friendly alternatives.

FRANCE – Albéa Tubes, a global leader in cosmetic packaging, has provided Laboratoires SVR, a France-based company known for its dermatological expertise, with innovative and recyclable tubes designed to minimize plastic waste.

Laboratoires SVR has integrated these sustainable tubes into its Sensifine Makeup Remover Balm and Topialyse body cream lines.

One of their key developments includes the (RE)flex sleeve and EcoFusion Top, which merge the head and cap into a single component, significantly reducing material usage and overall packaging weight.

These tubes are made primarily from polyethylene, ensuring compatibility with existing recycling streams and promoting a circular economy in the beauty industry.

The packaging not only enhances shelf appeal with a premium metallic effect but also aligns with SVR’s commitment to eco-conscious skincare solutions.

SVR is taking a proactive approach toward sustainability by reducing fossil-based plastic usage by over 50% compared to standard tubes.

Albéa spokesperson stated, “This solution not only strengthens shelf visibility and consumer curiosity but also underscores SVR and Albéa’s sustainable engagements.”

“The partnership continues to lead the way in responsible packaging solutions, aligning with their shared vision for a more sustainable future.”

Sustainable personal care packaging is increasing as consumers demand eco-friendly alternatives. Innovations include using recyclable content, reusable packaging, or biodegradable materials.

Recently, Albéa collaborated with Clarins to provide a cap and inner cup for the refillable Extra-Firming Cream Technology.

The caps will be manufactured at Albéa Simandre in France using recycled PET, while the inner cup will be made from tinted virgin PP.

The inner cup is designed to be removable once empty and can be replaced with a new refill.

According to Albéa, refilling the cream twice can reduce its environmental footprint by 84%.

Both solutions use bi-injection technology, combining two thermoplastic materials to create products with multiple colours in a single moulding process.

Meanwhile, SUQQU recently partnered with Eastman,  a global speciality materials company, to introduce a sustainable packaging solution for its latest setting powder compact.

This collaboration marks a significant shift in luxury beauty packaging, as SUQQU adopts Eastman Cristal One, a recyclable copolyester that blends elegance with environmental responsibility.

Recognizing the need for a sustainable alternative to acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), SUQQU worked closely with Eastman to develop a luxury compact that meets both functional and aesthetic standards.
