LMR Naturals expands Conscious Collection with Tonka Bean CO2 Absolute

USA – LMR Naturals,  a leading producer of the finest natural ingredients for perfumery, flavours, cosmetics, and aromatherapy by IFF, has expanded its Conscious Collection with Tonka Bean CO2 Absolute, a sustainable extract boasting a gourmand olfactory profile.

This new addition brings the Conscious Collection to 12 traceable natural ingredients tailored for fragrance and flavour applications. 

Produced via renewable, recycled supercritical CO2 technology at IFF’s Aubrac, France facility, it employs planet-friendly extraction methods to lower environmental impact while maintaining high sensory quality.

Tonka Bean CO2 Absolute delivers a creamy, gourmand scent featuring hints of brown sugar, buckwheat, and subtle cocoa, blending unexpected sweet-salty nuances. 

Senior perfumer Alexandra Carlin at IFF praised it, stating, “It has a brown sugar twist, a hint of buckwheat, and even a subtle touch of cocoa.”

The CO2 process cuts the ingredient’s carbon footprint by 34% compared to traditional methods, aligning with LMR’s goals for emission reductions and green hydrogen investments. 

LMR Naturals General Manager Bertrand de Préville highlighted how their Aubrac unit merges sustainability with premium hedonic profiles for perfumers.

Originating in 1983 from Monique Remy and acquired by IFF in 2000, LMR Naturals specializes in high-quality, innovative naturals for fine perfumery, cosmetics, home care, and more. 

The launch follows a €10 million (USD 11.76 million) investment in its Grasse site, an expansion of its Grasse site, which increased the site’s total area by 75% to 4,687 square meters. 

This expansion features a cutting-edge pilot hall designed to accelerate the development of new natural ingredients. 

Adjacent to the facility, a new experimental field grants direct access to plant materials, enabling more intensive botanical research and accelerating innovation in natural ingredients.

The enhanced site empowers IFF to introduce four to six new products annually, with sustainability integrated into its operations, as demonstrated by dual certifications, including For Life and Zero Waste to Landfill, and a waste valorization rate exceeding 98%. 

Meanwhile, IFF has announced consolidated net sales of USD 10.89 billion for the full year 2025, down 5% on a reported basis but up 2% on a comparable currency-neutral basis.
